Are they planning on offering race changes?

I have a High Elf NB which obviously isn't the best for a stamina build. It would be nice to be able to play around with races with respecs (which already exist).

Have they mentioned anything about this recently?

It is a very requested feature but as per usual the SoonTM is looming over us in response. I know its so frustrating

Make him a magicka nb for now? Altmer make probably the best magicka nb for dps.

However I think they mentioned something about releasing race change with Dark Brotherhood dlc or even later, wich is madness by zos.

Yeah, I'm doing magika right now and am enjoying it. I just like to play around with different combos sometimes which would mean $$$ for zos. i'm sure I'm not the only one who would be switching races around like crazy

Ugh, i hate the idea of race changes. My friend and i were talking about it the other night and one thing that is question is will skill lines be resist if you change your race? I strongly feel that there needs to be some penalty of a race change that is strong enough that people will second guess it. Why dont the people who want the race change, make a new char and just grind out the levels from there on. Pretty soon people will be wanting a class change.....

Tbh i don't think i would like it if you could change your race at the drop of a hat. Right now they should offer free race changes to Argonian, Khajiit and maybe Nords, as their passives kinda suck (khajiits are fine as is, if Carnage actually worked). Ideally in my mind it should be a one off thing, then maybe if ZOS make adjustments to racials down the line, offer race change again..............something like that.

But why lv up a character you know from the beginning that is not made for the kind of combat you wish for? Try it maybe until lv 10 and then make another one!

Best we know at this point is, they are working on character recustomization options, and racechange is likely to be one of them. Since its kinda iffy to just tell people to "reroll" when they spent a year playing and crafting research on a character they now for some reason really wish to change... (like, some min-maxxers who were kinda vexed at some racial passives changing... hey, I might consider it foolish, but if they feel strongly about it...)

It might cost a heap of crowns though, and that would be a good thing, make people think twice if changing their characters race really is worth the price of a limited horse for them. And since whatever crowns paid for the racechangers will go towards financing more content for the rest of us all the sooner... I have no complaints!

They have said race-changing will be in with the recustomization.

Lol why the f do there need to penalties. Why should someone have to scrap a toon if they want better passives. So the guy who rolls highelf sorc to start just somehow deserves better stats? If facials were somewhat balanced no one would care but when you compare basicly ep to ad races you can't tell me it's even.

Some of us have been here fo' long time. Some racials were very drastically changed, and there used to be softcaps which actually made the +% racials less optimal - you can't really say that for today's meta now can you? For example, khajiits used to have + 10% (or 15%, it's been a while and I forget) critical DAMAGE, plus critical hit %. Now we just get +8% crit chance, and it's bugged

So, your point really only applies for newer players.

Yes, they've confirmed race change will be coming along with the "barbershop". For proof go watch ESO Live where they were asked that question, I think it was THIS episode.

For right now, people are on the right track in saying that the mag NB is great for you. High Elf is one of the best for mag, and NB coupled with Distro Staff is very powerful.

Bull. Class change means learning an entirely new playstyle. Race change means that you get different pixels and passives. Changing class means you have to relearn something. Changing races mean you might do better damage after your original race was bugged or nerfed into oblivion.

So because I started the game at launch (when racial passives didn't matter AT ALL)...I should be penalized for wanting to switch to something more optimal!? Where is the logic in that?

Another thing...why would I grind another character to replace the one I've spent TWO FREAKING YEARS playing when I should be able to change something with a feature that should have been offered from the start.

I don't know why some people are so against a race change. What does it really matter? The racials matter in ESO endgame and why should someone be penalized for making the wrong choice. The people saying "just make another character" are ridiculous.

Fortunately, that will become much easier when VR levels are removed, but many of us have all 8 slots filled.

It kinda sucks to delete a max level character with all the time put into feeding the horse, earning alliance ranks, researching crafting traits, learning provisioning recipes, etc.

Appearance change, character name change, race change items in the crown store would be welcomed by a lot of players.

Not to mention the skill points. People who say just level another toon aren't thinking at all or are trolling.

Wish I was a teenager/university student and could neglect my education and health all over again just to play computer games. Ugh... maybe not.

Anyway, I feel there should be no penalties. In fact I feel you shouldnt be penalized with crappy racials if you want to play a race the appearance of which you like but which doesnt match your preferred playstyle.

Those who made Khajiit's and other races based on their passives and the racials do not even work should be fixed, and the tooltip should be removed till they are. Spending all the time it takes to level a toon and get them setup with gear is a slap in the face when what you expect to work does not. Its totaly unacceptable. Its such a basic part of the game.
