Legerdemain passives, Thief Guild passives strange solution

I am happy, we got new things to do, but I do not understand the logics behind its
I am a bit confused. There are 2 different passive skill line with the same purpose. These "increase your chances of being a successful thief".

I do not understand why it was a good solution taking two parts the passive skills, skills that must be stay together.

Successful hiding:
- Legerdemain, Improved Hiding
- Thief guild, Veil of Shadows

Successful bargaining with fence:
- Legerdemain, Trafficker
- Thief guild, Haggling

Cheaper bounty:
- Legerdemain, Kickback
- Thief guild, Swiftly Forgotten

Chests:
- Legerdemain, safebox
- Thief guild, thieves trove
Why we need new chests? There are the safeboxes!

It seems as though two separate teams have been made and have not really worked together and the results are not consistent.

A better solution would be if
- Legerdemain skill line would be called Thief Guild skill line
- would be raised the thief guild skill line to rank 50
- would be on the same skill line the passives
- would be refreshed safebox loot table
- we do not need new boxes, the finders keepers passive can erasable.

What do you think?

Ps. Sry for my English.

Sounds nice in theory but wouldn't be possible because if people don't have DLC but still want to be a thief need access to Legerdemain without Thieves Guild.

Don't think combining them would work for the reason keybaud stated but you are right..that passive tree is pretty lame. It's basically the same thing.

Legerdemain is base game. Thief guild is not.

From about what I read about the new passive skills, I think they did ok job on those. Won't take nothing away from ppl w/o DLC and will make the rest happy I suppose.

Sneaking has always been a core mechanic in Elder Scrolls games.. I see nothing wrong with giving players more reason and benefits to sneaking.

What difference does it make that one is base game and one is not? Everyone has the base game so they already have the legerdemain skills. Why do we need another DLC only skill line that does essentially the same thing? By your logic they should also make an equivalent of every other base skill line in future DLCs? That makes zero sense.

Thief's guild doesn't include all criminals in the world. Legerdemain is what all common criminals can develop while TG has also it's own special training.

i think they added the legerdemain in to quickly so they couldn't use it as thieves guild passives. but i do like how they managed to implement a thieves guild skill line without P2W crap attached to it so cudo's to that.

Thieves Guild is just the final paid content of the Justice System since it was unfinished/rushed content released back in 1.6/2.0. :/

The skills you're comparing may affect similar things, but the actual effects aren't the same.

    Successful hiding:
    - Legerdemain, Improved Hiding - reduces stamina cost of sneaking (allows you to sneak longer and/or have more stamina left over after sneaking)
    - Thief guild, Veil of Shadows - decreases detection range of NPCs (makes it easier to avoid getting caught)

    Successful bargaining with fence:
    - Legerdemain, Trafficker - allows you to sell more items per day
    - Thief guild, Haggling - gets you more cash for the items you sell

    Cheaper bounty:
    - Legerdemain, Kickback - reduces voluntarily-paid bounties (reduces the pain of being caught)
    - Thief guild, Swiftly Forgotten - makes your bounty wear off faster (shortens the window of time during which you can be caught)

    Chests:
    - Legerdemain, safebox
    - Thief guild, thieves trove - I would guess these might be bounty-free if you're seen opening them, and who doesn't like having more sources of loot?

Personally I didn't have much use for the Legerdemain passives aside from one point into Trafficker and some points into Pickpocketing just because I'm a wuss when people are involved. I think the Thieves Guild passives will be much more useful and I'm pretty excited about getting these perks.
