When is the campaign/faction restriction being removed?

Currently you can't join a campaign on one faction if you have a character from another faction assigned to it. I understand why the rules were put there to begin with, but it didn't help at all. In an earlier ESO Live I think they mentioned removing that restriction - does any one know when?

The problem is, I have an EP char I use for duelling and just hanging out with friends in PVP, however my other 7 alts are DC and occupy pretty much every campaign available, so my EP dude can't PVP. It's kinda stupid.

I have the answer. MARCH 7, 2016. It comes with the DLC.

Oh my god they're removing that? Welcome to everyone in every faction ever camping grind spots on one char to simply log in on other faction's char in same place to then ganked their own faction members lol xD

Farmers y'all best get your pitchforks and torches ready xD

Not that I care personally mind, but OMG get some sandbags crafted to shore up all the tears incoming.

No doubt some idiots will abuse it, but I think for the majority they legit just want to use other faction characters on their favourite campaign

If really want to go there now, you can. Just group up with a friend outside of Cyrodiil, then have them enter the campaign you want to join and follow them in when it asks if you want to port.
I did that to get my lowbie EP into Blackwater last night.

Are you sure about, on xb1 eu server Our emperor was fighting for another faction. Or can you still assign the campaign as a guest just not home??

At the moment you can't assign it as a guest or home. You can get a "taxi" there, but that's about it.

That's awesome, I'm having trouble finding 3 good campaigns for my characters to play in since I have one in each faction! My poor DC character is stuck on a dead campaign as it is.

Skyrim is what turned ESO's promise of real AvAvA into the hodgepodge of faction switching rubber spined casuals that we have today.

Not everyone who wants this would like to switch factions. I main DC, always have, but I like to log EP to duel or just hang with some friends. I will never properly war on that character though.

Factions should have been locked to your account from the start but it's far too late for that now, especially considering how the player base has changed to an endless see of casuals.

I would have been fine with that in all honesty. Like I said, I only use the one EP char I have for general purposes, but because the option is there I will use it.
Last MMO I played was heavily AvAvA based and actually locked your chosen realm to your account, so when you went to create a new character, it would automatically select the realm/faction for you.
This was great, but the downside was there was no grinding if you didn't want to. You could just open a new account, buy a max level scroll and be on your merry way.
Seems like every MMO has half of it right, and the other half wrong

I dont think that factions should be locked to accounts. I paid for all of the game, not 1/3 of it. However, i believe that you should be required to choose a home campaign for your character and then you are locked into that faction for the duration of that campaign with no back door into it with a character from another faction.

Cyrodiil is the same for every faction and all of the other faction's PvE content has been available to everyone from the start.
