They will come on the forums rage on about hating the game never gna play again and then the next day they are back here again about something that happened the next day or whatnot. Some complain about nerfs others about not being competitive at x level wearing x gear.

Those who think that leveling is tedious it can be but if you do it right and manage your time you can play casually and still max out. After IC dropped and it changed to vet 16 I didn't want to grind out the last 3 levels (I was vet 13 at the time) so I didn't. So i just played and eventually hit vet 14. Then one day I got eso+ to see what wrothgar was all about. When I got there I found that leveling was much easier than before. I have a bad had atm and only could play without pain for 30mins -an hr. in the first 30mins I gained half the xp till vet 15(used 2 ambrosia pots) I was like wow that was fast. Then thought well I might as well take tomorrow spend 1 more hr( if my hand will let me) and get vet 16. The next day bam was vet 16(2 ambrosia pots with 3 mins of grinding after they wore off). so in 2 hrs I went from vet 14-vet 16.

So for those of you who think the grind is hard or seems impossible I say keep looking. Find a good spot( join a guild or ask a friend for some ideas) and you should get levels fast(mind you I am a low dps healer Templar.) With my low dps it took me longer to kill the monsters so people with higher dps can probably achieve this much faster or if they run in pairs.

Now as far as nerfs go its an mmo its bound to have balance issues( think of eso as a baby-toddler right now.) It is still a rather new mmo and the kinks need worked out sure but that's with any mmo(generally.) And once the kinks get smoothed out and starts running more fluidly the things most complain about will be fixed(or good enough that you wont need to cry nerf.)

Ok now with Cyrodiil don't expect to be a vet 10 and be in green-blue gear with 67 cp and expect to be competitive with a vet16 in crafted/dropped set gear that is gold and 300+ cp. Sure skill counts for some, however they will still most likely win unless they are fairly unskilled pvper. Pvp is a very competitive end game activity a lot of the players who play pvp religiously tend to be min/maxers(and live in pvp.) They build their chars for pvp and live there every day(mostly.) Someone like me who doesn't pvp regularly I don't expect with my vet 14 crafted set that's purple and only 140-150 cp(altoholic) to be competitive in pvp.

So basically play the game have fun because life is too short to get upset about the little things in life like a game :)

you are correct however grinding in the right locations for 30mins-1hr a day and the rest play time on whatever you like to enjoy gives you a solid vet level so anything below vet 14 will possibly be more than 1 vet level and under vet 1 will be even more. I made a lvl 3 char took him to wrothgar by the time I made it to m grinding spot I was lvl 6 and in 15-30mins no xp pot I was lvl 13( ik not great but that's still solid 7 lvls no xp potion.)

So only small amount of grind time a day to get the levels you desire and cps you need :)

that's why I made this post as a reassurance to those who feel discouraged by not being competitive or ine imbalance issues or the grind for levels/gear( wasn't adressed but works the same way as levels) :)

Grinding isn't fun but it is what it is. I'm still a firm believer that quest grinding is the best way to level. Plus, you don't miss skill points. Pop an XP potion and zoom zoom zoom. You can hit V1 from start in a day or two.

Others swear by mob grinding. I did it once when cap was V14. Did the zombie thing in Alik'r. Never again. I'd rather stab my eye out with a fork; both seem equally pleasing to me.

see I can agree to do many quests pop an xp pot and urn in them all for the boosted xp. and you are right about the skill points. Personally I like getting the levels and mount speed so when I go back for quests it is bam bam bam done and finished the area haha just running through not killing anything(cept what I need to) and finishing the quests. or even not worrying and enjoying the story lines because I reached the max level so the xp isn't a thing I need anymore :) Then it no longer is about the xp grind and I can enjoy the gameplay/story.

I think if we all just play for fun instead of worrying about min/maxing for the grouping it will make the game more enjoyable. Me personally I am a min/maxer( atleast I try to be the best of my class I can be.) But if someone is struggling or something I try and help and I never have been the type of you need x dps or gtfo type of person. Im like as long as you play and have fun we can go at a dungeon or whatever. If you don't know the mechanics say something it wont be me kicking just knowing who we need to explain it to and run a test run haha. That's how I play atleast.

Pvp is fun but a lot of people get discouraged because they run into a zerg or get ganked going to a keep. I say make it more fun if you get ganked hunt them down with a friend night blade ;) to pop on him when they pop on you. and zergs just get into another zerg or create one to fight the zerg that rolled you haha. The orsirinium daily thing sounds awesome I may even try it o.o on my alts

I wouldn't mind the grind if it didn't feel so.. forced. I get that grinding is a part of any MMO. However, the progression most of the time feels natural. Hit dungeons. Get better gear. Do "Hard Mode" dungeons for "Dungeon Marks". Get better gear to advance to "Tier 1 Raids". Get better gear to advance to "Tier 2 Raids". Etc.

Here, it was "12 pieces of X wood for a VR15 staff". For VR16, get 10x that! Really? For a 1 VR level increase I need 120 pieces? I'm overjoyed by this. Where do I begin?

All this for what? An easier time of completing a VR dungeon?

yeah when I found out about this I wasn't too pleased however just in normal grinds( or fun runs of mob killing/ Ic pvping for tv stones) it seems manageable. In about 30mins I had 51 rubidite ingot for one of my heavy armor pieces of gear( that's with losing most of my tv stones to pvp gankers lol) if you look at it like that and gain do in small increments of 30mins-1 hr and move on to something else it reduces the feeling of a "grind" its more like small daily tasks to complete then quest or something after for the fun part. Will it take longer? yes. But personally I can get by with my current gear so I am not worried about it.

Mostly it's pure PvPers who whine on this forum.
And it seems that you don't know PVP motto: be salty or GTFO.

PS also lag in Cyrodiil drives (even) me mad.

And this kind of generalizing doesn't help.
Seen plenty of whines from pve and worse name calling than pvp players do.
Just check the PTS forums about the TV stones lol.

Pure PVPers and pure PVEers are the same to me to be honest. Way of thinking is too narrow in both cases.

    That I'll agree with :)

I think that anyone who solely only plays one or the other is missing out on half of the game. Pvp is fun as long as you accept there will be someone better than you and you will die a lot or a little depending on you decisions( skills to slot and fight/flight idea.) If you see a zerg coming or don't see it and get jumped while going over a hill you have 2 choices fight or run and rez your teammates and set up a trap down the road for them. Pve is fun if you like to work on your timing on skills and animation canceling without too much worries on getting killed in 6.5 seconds. this is how I see things. Pve is also good for lvling and gear grinding.

Grinding isn't fun though. I will have fun once the grind is over ;)

What activity in an MMO isn't grind?

So what you're saying is... l2p?

    Got it.
So basically play the game have fun because life is too short to get upset about the little things in life like a game :)

this is the short hand version not exactly l2p ;) more l2hf(learn 2 have fun) since it is a game and not that serious

Grinding isn't fun though. I will have fun once the grind is over ;)

Other than PvPing, everything else feels like a grind. Go to Orsinium, do the dailies, kill some giants/mammoths to finish off that XP pot.... rinse and repeat....

for me the PvP is the grind for ap -> alliance ranks. it's just how you look at it
