What am i doing wrong with my build?

I am a breton templar , my current gears are
3 v16 Arch mage divne magic enchant
2 v16 juliano sword
3 v16 juliano divne magic enchant
1 v16 kena
3 v16 willpower jewelry all add spelldmg
i have 286 champion points
My speldmg is 2.6k
Magic recovery 1.1k
I do dmg so low in Vma and i cant sustain. i see there are ppl with 3k spelldmg and with 2-3k magic recover. how is it possible? what am i doing wrong? can someone inbox or show my their build. i spent all my money for the gears so i can do vma and i cant even pass the first boss cuz of my low dmg now i have no incentive to do anything ..please help

If you're having trouble with sustain get the atronach mundus along with Magic regen drinks. I use the new Wrothgar recipe that gives 5k max health along with 450 mag regen

VMA isn'ta "Build" its literally changing your skills, weapons and even at times CPs for each section (not round)

I think watching videos helps but I will say this...if youre not using a rejuv staff that is one major thing you will need to start using on one bar to rejuv mana with the staff passive.

Its not always the total DPS...its can you kill AND Survive. Move, know when to be in melee range and when to stay at ranged, as well as the mechanics of each round. I haven't completed Vet MA yet either but I get further and further each time....however I'm only wearing V15 gear so...I'm pretty sure its not the gear if you have V16 Julianos

Damage scales on Max magicka / stamina.
So i'd try for at least the chest piece (or all 3 big ones) Infused. That doesn't sound like much but if you compare with divines, the flat 200~300 stat increase will be way more effective than a 7.5% boost on the mundus stone.

Besides that, yea... There's this website, Deltia something, the dude sucks but his site is damm full of reliable builds you can mess around with.

Also, keep in mind some people have base stats like yours, but buff themselves to max, eat fud/drink, drink pots, go stealth, and then say that those numbers are their 'stats' even tho' they only reach that for a few seconds at time and so on... specially with stamina builds.

yes i tried atronach stone but i only get 1.3k and with the magic regen drink i get 1.8k but my dmg is still too low and the regen cant keep up with my jabs in vma. my jab dmg is only 1k

Instead of julianos, use kagrenacs - much higher sustain and it also gives you a spell damage as the 5th bonus.
I use 5x kagrenacs and 3x archmage on all my magicka builds and it works just fine - great regeneration and high-ish spell power (3.2k with empower, 2.7k without roughly) and 1.4-1.7k regeneration depending if you have mundus or regeneration on your jewels.

i forgot to add. i have a v14 resto staff i only use to buff and heavy hit for magic regen and i look at this guide for the build and i watch the vids couple times to study vma

Just some ideas, because I get through it with around 300 CP, 2.4k spell damage and 2.2k regen.

• Invest CP in magicka recovery. A lot of CP.
• Sacrifice spell damage for sustain, so put magicka regen glyphs on your jewelry.
• Run a resto staff with healing ward, it's the best shield any magicka build has (besides sorcs)

Then watch this guy and see how his bars are set up and study the mechanics. 9/10, I get killed because I was unfamiliar with the mechanics.

My current setup is this:
5 Julianos all legendary
4 Magnus all legendary (Duel wield both bars for increased spell damage)
Armor is all Divines
All attributes are in Magicka
3x Willpower all Arcane with magicka recovery enchants
385 CP with 100 in The Lover Arcanist and 100 in The Ritual Thaumaturge. It doesn't show under your spell damage stat but does show the increased damage on the skills.

With the gold food buff/regen and Repetence I can get 2.5k regen on my magicka. And this is all on an Orc. My spell damage is at 2.1k. Take a look at your CP allocation and try and get as many points into Regen as you can.

One thing when people post such high numbers about their builds they are also talking about with buffs on. My spell damage at 2.1k is unbuffed so with a Spell Power pot I can get close to 2.4k ish. There are also those who are taking the best race for x build. With the Breton passives, your going to get a larger magicka pool with cost reduction, most of those with high regens are Altmer's as it's built into their passives.

Another thing on VMSA, check out some Templar videos on it for pointers. I watched one where they were using blazing spear on every mob spawn area. They were doing consistent damage with Puncturing sweep since the mob was stunned and not moving around.

I haven't tried VMSA again since I put this build together but as far as magicka regen goes, it seems I hardly run out of it at times. Under sever fights with large groups in Cyro doing both spell damage and healing it can run out but jumps back pretty quickly.

You need > Undaunted lv 9, for Undaunted Mettle 2/2, You must run 5 Light, 1 heavy & 1 medium
Also, you must try the arena when your ping is at lowest possible; and try to reduce graphical settings if your fps drops

Dont do magic drinks, do health and magicka food and atronach stone, other than that all you can do is get more champion points....unfortunately at max stats and best gear in the game the arena is still incredibly difficult. But keep trying you will eventually make it!

i changed 2 of my jewelry to magic regen and i am doing better with sustain but my dmg still kinda low. Will gold weapon make any difference? i dont wanna spent gold and turn out it only increase 100-200 spelldmg

If your stuff is not legendary that's also a huge problem too
Do you have the twin blunt and blade passive in dual wield?

I did it with just destro/2hand and 5 julianso 2 molag 3 will power. Torugs for the swords...just overload everything

The first boss is entirely Overload spam. Toggle it on and don't stop using it until the boss is dead (ignore the adds).

But if you are having trouble with the first boss, you will not make it much further. Maelstrom is heavily dependent on player skill opposed to gear. It's designed for a solo player, and many players do not have experience doing difficult solo content.

You are running a build that requires a lot of cp to not have sustain issues. Swap jewelry to recovery enchants and use seducer instead of arch Mage for maelstrom. What skills are you running and what do your champion points look like? Also what mundus?

You are running a build that requires a lot of cp to not have sustain issues. Swap jewelry to recovery enchants and use seducer instead of arch Mage for maelstrom. What skills are you running and what do your champion points look like? Also what mundus?

IMHO, trying to finish Maelstrom is less about perfecting a build than it is about learning the spawns and mechanics. All the stages seem hard the first time you see them.

You absolutely need a gold weapon on vr16, it scales a lot.

I don't think 1.1 recovery is enough while learning the arena bc/ u will waste mana making mistakes and healing yourself. Looks like you raised that, which is what I would have recommended.
