I tried to break my addiction to ESO by switching to Fallout 4 for a little while, (yes, I know, it's like switching from heroin to cocaine and somehow thinking you'll get better :D ) But now I'm in the loop of ESO for a few days, then FO4 a few days, etc, etc

Been playing since beta (February 2014) so almost 2 years now.

You can say a lot of good and bad things about ESO but in the end its a very fun game with one of the best combat systems that I have ever seen in a game.

i'm still a newb at the game tho, been playing for 2-3 weeks haha, got a sorcerer but quited at 40 cause i felt like it was so boring to play a sorcerer, then tried a nightblade and i fell inlove with the playstyle so i all i did was grind, barely quests or anything, didn't even explore much :s Just killed over a million mobs to my vet level lol, prob missed so many skyshards or quests that give skill points, but i can google the locations right?

Ah, see I got bored of my Sorc too and instead rolled a Dragonknight fire mage, and the inner pyro in me was excited

My NB is a healer too because I didn't want to be one of those generic ganking stealth NB's; I like the unique look at builds.

Anyway so long as you have enough Skill Points for the skills you need then you'll be right, and that you have fun! I'd recommend trying the quests out on at least one char at one point, as it's in the nature of TES series to have a focus on the questing.

Yep you can, although there's other things you should look at doing to 'round out' your nightblade. The Undaunted, Mages Guild and Fighters Guild skill lines are worth progressing on for the passives and some of the active abilities. Also the main story missions provide skill points and A pretty decent ultimate in Soul Assault.

Started playing ESO when it arrived on PS4 (in June of last year, right?). For about 6 months it kept me fairly hooked. I made a total of 6 characters, all of varying Vet levels. Tried a bit of everything during that time.

I had a good run with ESO but pretty much quit at this point. I'm not complaining though; for the price of the game and subbing, it was a good deal. On the other hand, WoW kept me addicted for years.

A buddy of mine went back to FFXIV and I decided to try it out and am loving it.

ESO has the lore to back up a lot of the play, but as far as an MMO goes there needs to be a lot of improvements made. Endgame is almost nonexistent and PvP.. ugh. Given several more updates/patches/etc it may become a better game. For now, it's so-so.

I know, I know.. "if it sucks so much, why are you even posting here??".

I never said it sucks, and I still peruse the forums to assist recruitment for my old guildmates, even though I passed the GM torch.

TL;DR--Not addicted. Anymore. Had a decent run though for about 6 months.

I been playing pretty hardcore since console launch and it kept me pretty hooked... Until my friend got me back into warframe with its new updates, incredible gameplay, and FUN pvp, now everytime I play ESO I try to jump and slide all over the place and I end up switching back... Eso was fun for awhile, I check back here every now and then to see if they posted patch notes for the DLC, but from what I seen already I doubt I'll buy it, another "meh" DLC.

Agreed. I've tried to go back to play ESO from time to time. It's just not there anymore. Literally no reason to play. I also agree the DLC so far has been mediocre at best.

Playing ESO reminds me of playing another MMO 11 years ago.

Just that now we have to wait for ESO to modernize and that's what is killing my enjoyment of the game. Fun game for sure, but way behind the times.

I honestly don't know why. Endgame is lacking. PvP is a lagfest in large battles. Group finder is broken (unless it's been changed to format roles correctly; ie--not having 4 DPS queue as "healer" just to get in faster, only to find you are sitting with 4 DPS). "Dungeon marks" don't exist and are only really worth doing for the 2 dailies. Raids don't exist. PUGs are often horrible, with people not knowing wth they're doing (light attack>light attack>light attack>light attack>...).

It was fun for a time. More patches and reworking of the content will maybe breathe some life back into it though.

I had that same feeling from early beta all the way until the release of the B2P/cash shop monstrosity. ZOS cured me of my addiction unfortunately. Been on hiatus for many months but just started playing again recently to see Wrothgar. The B2P/cash shop is certainly not the worst system out there but I still much preferred the old system with a sub and non of this cash shop nonsense.

I'll probably keep playing for a while but I think at this point it's mostly because there is no other MMO to choose from that is any better and doesn't also have some annoying B2P/F2P garbage to deal with. If Pantheon was releasing I would probably be switching to that.

Meh, it's my cup of tea! The issues that you're pointing out are valid, but they're not ones that get me too worked up. I've had decent luck with Group Finder and the 4 DPS problem you mentioned is more about the people than the game, I think. The lag in Cyrodiil can get frustrating but I don't get to throw-my-controller levels with it, (sometimes it reminds me of my ravin' days which is kind of amusing) and as for PuGs and people not performing skillfully or by-the-book, that isn't a game flaw and I'm fairly patient with that where I know others are not. I use it as an opportunity to learn or teach or just drop the group and try again.

But the game is absolutely beautiful and I keep coming back for the in-game achievements, the crafting, the DLC which are just getting better and better IMO, the challenge of improving my character, etc. I got a little bored with the questing but the Orisinium DLC changed everything. It is by far my favorite questline in the game with more puzzles, moral choices, actually needing to engage instead of just hitting A until a new destination marker popped up.

I'm not an RP'er but Tamriel has become like home to me. I have a few of my own gripes about it, and a few things on my wishlist, but overall I absolutely love it. I can't stop playing and I can't wait to see what comes next.
