Rune harvesting - potency levels?

Hi - do Potency Runes nodes scale to the level of the monsters around them? i.e. i'm after Denara runes then Rera as i'm out - so do I need to find Vet 1-3 enemies?

I guess thats zone 1 Cadwell Silver - i'm EP so is that Glenumbra?

With the exception of Wrothgar and Cyrodil, potency rune nodes drop in their level. So yes, for Rera and Denara you will farm Cadwell's Silver. Rera should start appearing in Rivenspire.

Yes - and the same for blacksmithing, clothing and woodworking.

Materials scale up quite nicely as you progress (level of nodes equating to the level you can use equating to the level of the zone).

Provisioning recipes probably do too, can't remember though.

Yes they do. At least for the Leveling Zones.

Although it can get a little weird in Silver and Gold, as you should only find V1 and V5 recipes in Silver and V5 and V10 in Gold. AFAIK, I can only find V15 recipes in Wrothgar. However I have not done a lot of recipe searching in Silver and Gold lately.

I just finished silver and am about 1/2 of the way through gold and all I recall finding so far is v1 and v5 recipes.

Now I am going to have to go farm the 5th zone in gold just to see what is dropped there. Maybe the V10's only dropped in Craglorn and Writs. They should drop in the 5th zone of gold though.

Ok so staying 'in level' makes sense if you want relevant mats & still get good xp from questing.

So back to runes, Potency drop by level but essence and aspect is that fully random? I.e. Could you pickup a Kuta in Stonefalls same odds as Cadwell Gold or do odds increase? I know some of the essence runes I didn't see for ages till late in EP (blocking / bash ones?) but could have been RNG Unlucky! just curious If anyone has studied it!

AFAICT, essence and aspect drop anywhere at the same rates.

I could swear I got more Kuta at lower levels, but I am pretty sure that was just RNG.

My first Gold loot was a Kuta in Stonefalls not long after leaving that city. I also gotten a mix of all Essences at all level of zones. The only exception to this is the new Essences that came out with Imperial City, those mostly only drop from the scamps up there and in the nodes in that zone. I don't think they drop in Wrothgar, but if they do, they are rare.

As you play this game, the rune that is really the most difficult to get are the Potencies. You can generally pick up Aspects in Guild Stores for reasonable pricing for Green, Blue and sometimes Purples and Kuta's are always for sale. What is hard to find are Potencies for the level you need at the time you need it. The best thing for that is to decon every mob glyph you get unless you need to use it on something. That way you get a good supply of Potencies. Save them for Alts as you go if your current character does not need them.

Thanks Nestor. I decon all glyphs I get as i'm still trying to level up Enchanting (slow). and all of my original guild send me any runes they find so I have always had a healthy stock (I enchant for all our group) i'm just suddenly out of Vet Denara and Rera (Vet 1-3 & 4-6) I guess maybe as a few of us hit it together as you are on Vet levels way longer etc. Also Low Vet level Potency runes seem rare in Guild Stores - i've tried for a few days and see sub 50 or VR14/16 in most I look in. I guess as they can charge big bucks for them.

Also I completed the main quest then have been doing everything in Wrothgar and mopping up stuff in my previous Alliance zones / Coldharbour prior to going into Cadwell's Silver. So i'm VR4 but not started it yet - but its where I need to be to get the right runes. So i've maybe messed up in terms of XP etc now as its 1-3
