Graphics on console

I wish there wasn't so much water in this game because everytime I pass by some I'm forced to sit and admire it's beauty.

Seriously, this game just has such great scenery.

I have no doubt it looks better on PC but for a console MMO this absolutely takes the cake. By far.

The only thing the other 'big' mmo that's on console does better is draw distance, but even with a worse draw distance (not that it's even that bad at all in this) I just can't help but constantly admire the games scenery.

The game does look nice but it's missing a couple things like hookers and blackjack lol
But serious note whomever designed the scenery did a good job

It requires a relatively decent CPU and graphics card to look that good on PC with smooth frame rate.

From the videos I've seen, ESO actually looks way better on PS4 compared to my crappy machine. When I play on the lowest possible settings, it appears pixelated like Minecraft and my frame rate still drops to single digits in big keep battles.

I feel sorry for you then. This game can be really immersive with the way it looks.

The framerate seems really stable on ps4 as well, although pvp can bog it down in the really big battles but I guess that goes for basically anyone on any platform

Yeah this game looks great and performs really well relative to console standards, but yes, the graphics and frame rate are WAY better on PC.

Still, my only real complaint about the console video performance is the view distance. Being able to max out view distance on my PC really adds to the immersion and feeling of awe at the scenery.

If you are talking pure scenic beauty, ffxiv on ps4 handily gives teso a run for its money

Yeah but there are a lot of things that make xiv look meh

The water for example, looks pretty terrible. It's also never more than a couple inches deep, and any water that is more than a couple inches deep is past an invisible line on the edge of the zone border.

I mean, even on a certain fishing boat out in the ocean, the water is still 2 inches deep. Cmon now.

XIV has some nice scenery, and the draw distance is absolutely phenomenal. The zones in its expansion are reaaaally big, and you can see the ENTIRE zone from one end to the other, which is fantastic, but idk.

XIV definitely gives ESO a run for its money no doubt, sometimes. A lot of the zones are honestly really ugly, the sagoli desert in eastern thanalan for example is really just straight up laughable at best imo. A lot of the textures are reaaaally bad. ESO has some bad textures too but somehow they just look better.

XIV also has a really annoying zone design, being really restrictive with invisible walls all over the place, and the fact that there's a big blue line across every loading screen for a new zone, it just kills a lot of immersion. The zones feel/are a lot smaller than ESO and yet still have to load each different one, with basically every zone not even being able to see the path where that loading screen takes place. At least in this when you load into a new zone, usually at least, you can see that path that loads into the new zone. You don't go through a loading screen than magically appear a mile ahead of where you were.

    ESO feels more free imo.
Don't get me wrong though, I played xiv on ps4 launch up until this game released, I loved the game, but I think this looks better, and is more fun to boot.

I'm stopping now because I just realized how obnoxiously large this post is.

It's not bad but as far as MMO's go Destiny has been the most aesthetically pleasing of this console generation.

For a MMO the visuals are excellent.

    i7-4790K
    16 GB RAM
    2 x Geforce Titan X SLI
    28'' display WQHD (2560 x 1440)

Playing on PC on ultra+, max settings + almost UHD (4k) resolution, thanks to Nvidia DSR.

    Result: -> total awesomeness.
