Catapult view

Hi all,

Everytime I use a catapult I cannot get a good view of the target. The catapult is more skewed downwards then other siege weaponry.

Here I try to catapult, but i cannot see where the target reticule is (i know theere is a piece of wall in front but even without it i could not see)

If I use a balista, trebuchet or even oil, the view is skewed more upwards so you have a better view:

Is there a solution for this (free view did not work and i could not find an addon) or @Zos, is there a reason for this?

Anyone else has this problem and how do they deal with it. If I attack enemies on same level i don't have issues, it's only of they are below me.

The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Zoom out with your mouse wheel.

Zoom out with your mouse wheel.

Then it still does not show the target when firing down. If i zoom out when using catapult i just see the rear of the catapult from a larger distance and still not the target. The problem is you cannot change view up and down.

This is something people have been complaining about since beta. After all, how hard would it be for ZOS to copy/pasta balista FOV code onto catapults?

Of course the ZOS response has always been...

My solution, fire and then swing to the side to see what you hit. Adjust as needed, and practice, practice, practice until you are a master of the blind shot.

    Yeah, I know. :unamused:

Eh even then I personally still find the view hard to use when in front say a tower or tree or something. I say switch to a over head view.

You could try using the camera option in settings and switch to constrained view from the default free view for seige weapons. Not always the best option but I use constrained 99% of the time.

Hmm never heard of this, but I will give it a look tonight. Thanks for the tip.
