Is there a website with a updated list of known scammers?

Lets say on PS4 I have 7 nirncrux and I wanted 7 pieces of heavy armor made so I can research the nirnhoned trait. Does anyone know if there is current list of known in game scammers, so I can check it and make sure I do not do business with them so I do not get scammed myself? What happens if I do get scammed? Does ZOS even punish these said scammers? And just because someone is in your guild does not mean they will not scam you.

No there is no such list....and nothing can be done if you get scammed you cannot prove their guilt.

But here are some hints how to do it properly:
    -Trust no one
-When exchanging materials get their gold value as deposit- so in case of technical difficulties or scam no one looses .
-When getting the crafted set just give the deposit back + the remuneration for the job.

It is totally safe this way.

Interesting, so you are saying if I have 900 rubedite ingots for a set I needed crafted, I would ask the crafter to trade me the value of my ingots in gold? Is this a widely used practice in this game?

There is a couple of community groups that trade/sell items and they post most of all of the scammers on there

No it is not widely used...in time you will make friends whom you trust.

It is just a way to avoid scamming if you encounter a crafter you don't know.

You can do it in batches if the amount is too high.

But to me this is the only safe way....the crafter might mess things up while crafting...why would you pay for his mistake. If he is an honorable crafter then he will return your money anyway...so why not to play safe from beginning.

Also, always have a witness. Make sure you have a buddy grouped and add the crafter to your group when ordering services etc.

A good way to not get scammed, is to ask your guild's officers if they can craft it. Even if they can't do it themselves, they usually can recommend you a trustworthy person.

I remember in EQ1 there was no "official" forums and we used an "unofficial" one for our server on Lanys. Most people on the server used it to communicate and there was a forum section specifically for this type of behavior. It was called the sh!t list. It did wonders for the community. It allowed players to sort of self police the server.

It didn't prevent people from being *** but boy did their reputation get tanked if they ended up on that list and then guilds and even groups would shun them and their options in game would greatly diminish. You really did not want to end up on that list if you valued having grouping/raiding/guild options in game. I miss that sort of thing.
