"Wild Card" Gear and Weapons would be nice

I've been thinking how it's a bummer when I get some rewarded treasure like a weapon or armor, but the traits on it are completely different from what I'm wearing. So what I'm suggesting is blank 'Wild Card' drops that can be synced to our current armor set and level. The next time someone gets that sword they like the style of ... they can go to any blacksmith and choose an option to sync/link it to their choice of armor set, gaining the best of both worlds.
What do you guys think? Have you'll come across anything that you wished was the set you prefer to wear, and just decided to deconstruct the piece or sell it?
