Could someone explain the Blur skill to me?

I've totally ignored the Nightblade's Blue skill. I thought that I'd give it a go as Skills respecs. are pretty affordable if I want the skill point back.

I'm probably being rather dense but I can't quite would out what it does. What does the 20% boost to Roll Doge apply to? I roll/dodge (by double tapping a movement key) regularly (and has CP invested in reducing the cost) and it seems pretty much 100% effective at avoiding attacks to start with.

I'm probably being a bit of a noob!

It's 20% passive dodge chance. So once it's active you can have a 1 in 5 chance to block dodge any attack thrown your way. Very powerful.

It has no effect on your roll dodge. It's just a passive way of mitigating damage.

I also really like the Morph "Double take", it's the only movement speed buff in game that does not take you out of stealth.

I think that's all there is to it! :)

Note, this skill effect does not require you to Hold or Apply a Block, it just does it.

It's also not really a Block per say, it's a 20% chance for an absolute miss by the enemy. A Block still lets some damage through and a block requires you to have some Stamina in order to work.

It says 20%, but you really do take even less hits than that percentage would indicate in combat. It is a very effective skill to mitigate damage. Medium Armor has roughly the same skill effect.

If you want to reduce the costs of Roll Dodge, there are Champ Point passives that do that.

Its not really a Block, but a Miss by the Mob. Blocks still let some damage come through. With this skill, if it procs, you get no damage at all for that attack on you.

It's an amazing tool for most NB builds. The Mirage morph is especially useful for tanks since it grants Major dodge and Minor resist buffs all in one ability, while Double Take is great for mobility, especially in stealth in PvP.

On my magicka NB, which I tank with in PvE but run a more DPS-type build in PvP, I still use the Mirage morph because I get Major speed buff from Cripple.

Not than useful if you have a shadow tree abilited slotted and you use it periodically, such as cloak, Veiled Strike or Aspect of Terror.

Those skills grants you major ward and major resolve for 5 secs after activation through the shadow barrier passive

most NBs take it for the movement speed buff morph. The 20% dodge chance is also nice. btw, it grants 20% dodge chance, dodge roll is not affected.

The Minor resist buffs from Mirage stack with the Major resist buffs procced by the Shadow Barrier passive. You can stack Major+Minor buffs of the same type, but not two Major (or two Minor) buffs of the same type.

If you're rolling a magicka nightblade, it's pretty great because your regen will easily comp the cost, so you can spam that and cloak all day. If you're running stamina, you'll get better utility out of retreating maneuvers, or if you're using a bow, just use shuffle + expedition bonus after a dodge roll.
