ESO:
- No available communication between clients
- Slow and incomplete development of various UI features
Upcoming MMO:
- Open source UI allowing the community to contribute and fix any potential errors
- In-game chat accessible through XMPP allowing third party clients to be created with an actual connection to the game itself
- Using typescript, javascript (including libraries such as jquery and underscore) and html for UI components making it widely accessible to the community due to it's popularity
Why do I even bring this up?
- ESO is launching a SCT which won't include any buff/debuff tracking, which I guess would be the most important part for consoles who can't use any addons.
- There's been a discussion the last few days regarding an addon which allows the user to see a breakdown of damage and healing during a fight within his or her group, the discussion resulted in a change on Zenimax part which will make this impossible without any client communication.
- Because I'm not fond of the selected roadmap presented to us

No idea what you're trying to indicate, you pretty much just wrote words without any arguments in your first reply, and within your second reply you state that the lag would be worse in Cyrodiil, which makes me wonder that if you believe that addons create some sort of global lag which will affect everyone even tho they're not using any of their own.
Obviously the chat server isn't located on the same environment as the game server so that rules out the gameplay performance issues.

Open source UI and hacking? I'd like you to elaborate how that would open up doors for hacking, considering that the source code for ESO UI is already available for everyone.
