A Proposal for Racial Passives

Its obvious, this game cant be truly balanced with the impact racial passives have on gameplay. Running the wrong race can completely disrupt the balance of ones build either magicka or stamina. For instance a magicka sorc picks wood elf at the start of their ESO career, later to find out they are getting 21% stam recovery they dont need, all because they picked the wrong class? When they could be getting more elemental damage max magicka and magicka recovery. I propose a new system of racials which dont affect gameplay (pvp and pve respectively) at all, but instead give world bonuses to each race. To implement this i believe Zenimax should boost all recovery by 10% and max stats by 5% as a base game patch to make up for whats lost. Lets start er off.

Aldmaeri Dominion
High Elf: 15% Extra experience in clothing for all Light Armor deconstructed
Wood Elf: 15% Extra experience in Woodworking for all Wood deconstructed
Khajit: 15% Extra experience in clothing for all Medium Armor deconstructed

As a whole: Reduced research times for Clothing and Woodworking by 10%

Daggerfall
Breton: 10% Increase in Mages guild experience recieved
Orc: 15% Extra experience in Blacksmithing for all Weapons deconstructed
Redguard: Extra experience in Blacksmithing for all Armor deconstructed

As a whole: Reduced research times for Blacksmithing by 15%

Ebonheart
Dark Elf: 15% Increase in Enchanting for all glyphs deconstructed
Argonian: 15% Increase in Alchemy for all potions deconstructed
Nord: 15% 10% Increase in Fighters Guild Experience Recieved

As a whole: 15% Increase in experience for Provisioning, 4% For clothing, woodworking, blacksmithing, Reduced research times in all by 2% (Feel like this side needed something extra)
Something like this, not exactly these passives but along these lines. Thoughts? Of course i still believe ZO$ will take the high route and put in race change, "Everyday i think about the money"

I agree. But I think the passives should be more than just skill increase. For example

Swim speed + water breathing for argonians
Khajiit can have reduced fall damage and bonus pick poket

You cannot drown in ESO, swimming is a wasted passive and deconstruction passives mentioned the OP has nothing to do with combat. You guys should think things through before firing up a thread like this. The thread started of logically then veered of course. Plus race change is coming so I am sure that will eventually correct picking the wrong race.

Are you aware of how minor the gameplay differences can be with the racial bonuses? Yes, you get slightly more stats for picking a Breton instead of an Argonian for your Magicka Sorc, but it's still entirely possible to make it a very good build. The only difference is that you won't have the same min/maxed stats that the elite will have, but you'll most likely be researching beforehand what race is the best if you care about that anyway.

I run an Argonian NB healer and he's awesome. Racial passives can have an impact at endgame if you're at the min/max peak and evenly skilled, but to 99% of people they won't care.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

once again argonians would be bottom class because alchemy is the EASIEST skill to level up in all of the crafting trees. also HELL NO to mages guild EVERYONE would switch to breton as it is a pain in the ass to level any shortcut to that is too good.

I have never created any of my characters for their racial passives.I know they are good to have, but I guess I'm not someone who worries about getting every bit of advantage I can.I try to use my character to its best ability. Meaning that I choose the races I like, and work their skills to their utmost.I dont check out their skills first though.Having said that,it's different with classes. I wouldnt play a Templar. They're not that good for much other than healing. So if I dont do PvP or run in groups a lot,a Temp wouldnt work for me.

Wood elf suggestion doesn't work because of the lore. Breton and Nord suggestions don't work because of the levelling system related to Mages and Fighters lines.

You clearly don't understand what I meant. I gave exampled for non combat pasives I want to see. I added anti drown as one because i hope they will add underwater swiming some time in the future. I personally think Combat racials are a bad thing (and I am pretty sure OP thinks the same)
