Radiant Oppression - Broken (Suprise!)

@ZOS_GinaBruno please have someone take a look at this and confirm if this is intended or if we truly do have a skill broken.

So many people are aware that Radiant Oppression has two commonly known bugs, which are non critable ticks and it's dodgeable. However there is a THIRD bug with this skill that isn't very noticeable until you really look at your dps. Thank you to @hedna123b14_ESO and @golfercb for helping test this.

If you have multiple Templars using Radiant Oppression on the same target, only 1 Templar will get the FULL damage tick (outside of the already non crit ticks) while the remaining Templars will get severely reduced damage ranging from 1-9k.

Why might this be an issue you might ask? Well it's like saying out of 5 NB's executing only 1 will get full damage while the others just randomly throw their blades in the ground. The Templar will lose precious dps and if you are running a trial... the execute phase will last much longer than it should.


Now it's hard to tell by these pictures without a video (sorry can't do those), but if you look at the first picture you see a full tick and then a second tick drop to 4.9k. Looking at the second picture you just see the tick for 1k+ish. Mind you these were all during execute phases meaning for most Templars they start at 35% and lower and not at the 50% mark. You can also see that magicka was not an issue as this Templar still has plenty of magicka left.

Now I encourage everyone to do their own self testing, and I will be posting a damage log once I get a coordinated Templar team to test with and will post all the logs to show this bug. @Nifty2g would like your help with this.

    Toppling Charge hardly ever works in pvp. Most times it just makes the sounds and breaks you out of stealth and you have to manually run up to your enemy.

    Because by design it is a DoT... so lower overall damage than one shot execute of other classes.

    Toppling Charge is just one of the many bugged skills Templars currently have. I almost feel like Templars are where NB's were at the beginning of the game where none of their skills worked lol

    It's so dumb that 1 skill has 3 associated bugs with it. Toppling charge has 2 associated bugs with it... I mean come on.

    Not saying there was nothing wrong with them, but Nightblades as a class weren't all that broken back then. Bow/DW assassin builds were, thanks to stamina being crap. Most NBs of course tried to play that way, failed hard and wrongly attributed that to the class.

    Yes, I did play one back then.

    Love my MagPlar but yeah with Radiant it does do some fu things from time to time.
    Also wonder if Purify Light works half the time as well. Hard to tell on console.

    It may have recently been acknowledged.
    I think it should be the first in this list:
    Radiant Destruction
    • You don’t always get the execute bonus
      • This will be addressed in the next major update.
    • Ability effects will occasionally get stuck to corpses
      • This is bugged internally, and we’ll work on getting it fixed.
    • There appears to be inconsistent damage
      • The total damage listed in the tooltip does not currently match the total damage output; this will be fixed in the next major update.

    Gina is likely busy with patchnotes now... So I would just wait for the PTS.

    Do you know when this was posted? I don't see the date/time stamp of that post. I'm fairly positive that this is a very recent (or at least now reoccurring) change.

    Also, as far as I've seen I've always had full execute damage solo... as stated this only happens when other Templars in group are executing as well.

    I dunno, that guy did get there eventually and was even able to use abilities when he did.

    And I was neither the first to notice, nor the first to open a thread about this. Months before I made this thread it was already common knowledge in raiding guilds that no more than one Templar can execute with Radiant Oppression.
    As I said, this bug may have been around since the skill was added.

    @Kaliki I'm not trying to claim "first" to notice. I'm trying to bring attention and awareness to this issue. Also are you sure your bug was not related to the non critting issue? AFAIK the bug I'm referring to is fairly recent. The ticks I'm referring to are just extremely sub par and not at all what they should tick for regardless if crit or not.

    I was just trying to be informative instead of telling you to use the search function.

    This bug is no. 3 in the Templar issues thread. Its been around forever and is known.

    I would rather that ZOS notices that Enduring Rays dors not add ticks to RD.
    But I guess my threads are never that interesting.

    out of interest whats broken about sweeps? I'm making a templar dont know that bug. already knew the OPs bug seen reported multiple times mentioned multiple templars executing means only one person gets the +300% boost for some reason.

    You don't get the +140% dmg when attacking a shield, same with jabs, so literally your hitting shield for 1k tool tip dmg per jab so around 500 dmg per hit.

    Make killing sorc or anyone who uses harness / healing ward impossible to kill.

    I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

    Also there is another bug that happens when a Templar casts it on me while I'm at full HP and fresh wards all it does it tickle me slightly. You may want to look into why so many Templars can't seem to be able to read the tooltip.
