Magika DKs

Is Zos going to do anything to buff magic DKs. I don't think anyone is looking for god mode but come on. It does not even make sense. You cannot achieve decent magic damage and sustain without light armor but the class seems initially designed for heavy armor. Like Sorcs achieve offense and defense with magic via shields. So the offense stat greatly increases defense. Samething with NB. So we have magic DKs in light armor with no where near the shields and survivability of Sorcs. Lets not even bring up escapes like cloak or the sorc teleport garbage. I agree dk were not meant to escape but you are forced to wear light armor. Heavy armor just kills magic sustain and even then it does not provide the survivability of a true escape. Lava Whip hits for nothing..... How exactly is a pvp meta dominated by NB running around no skill spamming a few abilities and mowing players over good for the game.

Like I said no one is asking for god mode. Just some balance. Anything..... I am really not even suggesting a nerf to NB but the one or three shot garbage in pvp is not exactly healthy for the game.

Look. Just buff magic DK and balance the game. I would not mind if any of this made sense... it is illogical. Broken. Look at the steaming pile of **** that is dragon breath. Also, I am not saying the magic dk cannot be succussful but in comparison to the other classes it is sorely lacking. Horrible even. I love this game and not really asking for nerfs to other classes but a fair and logic class balance that is healthy for the game and player experience.

ZoS and @Wrobel : from other form posts I can assume that they do not want to do anything with Magicka DK's which is a shame, as I love the concept of it. They have a dream of no magicka Dk's and nothing but Nightblades and Sorcs ruling Tamriel. To them apparently the DragonKnight was a mistake and they have to nerf it to the ground to make up and appease their Gods.

True, but with templars losing their purge and unpurgable meatbags, maybe more people will start dropping purge. Or maybe they'll all start taking it...

Oh god. its swtor all over again. Going to be nothing but nightblades (assassins) and sorcerers ( sages / sorcs ) in pvp.....

Clearly magicka dks touched zos devs in their special spot and they are crusading to nerf them into oblivion now.

Exactly. But, that's the sum total of all the 'buffs' planed for DK for the next update cycle.

Don't worry though, Wrobel knows which class actually needs the most help in order to be brought up to par w/ other classes.

I could not make it work. Dragon blood barely seemed to heal me, all my CCs were nothing compared to the other 3 classes, I had no abilities capable of putting out the damage a sorc or a NB could put out and templars just healing thru it all, no mobility, DoTs being useless due to cloak and purge, I could go on. It was initially designed for tanking, which, in my opinion, is where some of the issues lie. the class was designed with pre tamriel unlimited mechanics in mind and was not updated to the extent the other 3 classes were. and no I am not saying anything needs nerfed, (Sithis help templars if they were to be nerfed) I am saying something needs a buff.

Well your dk heal is halved so you heal 17% of your missing hp, which means when you have 25k hp and your on about 5000 (20% left) You'll heal for a whopping 3400 hp at execute range...

Magicka dk can do crazy things in a fair 1v1 fight. We can reflect ranged attacks all day, and hit pretty hard with the right build. The class shines with the passives and ultimates. You can rotate potions and ultimates to keep magicka sustained with very very low recovery. My DK with 5 light has 25k spell resist unbuffed, thanks to big passive buffs from my race (breton) and class. Combined with scales, I scoff at all mag builds and bow users. You need to be a close quarters build with good CC rotation to really take me. Nightblades with fear are particularly troublesome. In groups, the mag dk is useful and can contribute greatly. Its the only character I play, and im happy with him, although I would really welcome a buff. Either an escape that resembles Take Flight or perhaps a lava version of Radiant Destruction.

Wait what? You're telling me the best (or maybe second best if you consider breath of life to be the best... but that's magplar only) skill Templars have is being taken away? Please cite your sources on this. I'm getting frustrated as well with all of the nerfs to the game, particularly when many of them are unwarranted.

I'll make an example: Why are so many AoE's such high damage, and so many single target skills underperform with respect to those AoE's? Does anyone really think that the single target dual wield skills should do less damage than Steel Tornado? I think they'd solve a lot of the lag issues in pvp if AoE simply didn't do so much damage, EVEN IF they had some kind of battle buff specifically to nudge aoe down with respect to damage.

I'm not sure what you meant by the cc's of the 3 other classes. Templars have cc, but they are vastly inferior to the cc available to NB, DK, and Sorc. It would really make me happy to see them give us an aoe cc back. I agree that DK has been gutted, but I believe DK and Templar are floundering for reasons common to both classes. They are both stand and fight classes, with blocking passives which have been more or less made garbage by a sweepingly terrible change in the way blocking works in the game. (Really we are supposed to lose regeneration for 4 seconds because we block an attack?). I use to play a Stamina Templar tank and it worked, but nowadays it is just a big headache to play and I've gone on to play the character as a dps. I've had multiple race/class builds now completely gutted by huge shifts in the game rules (argonian potion nb for instance), in some cases multiple times. I don't plan to pay them to re-race a character because they've ruined my build either, I just want them to balance the game.

On the matter of heals and shields, DK and Templar also have the problem of a lot of their abilities getting hit with double nerfs, Blazing Shield for instance, or Obsidian Shield. I personally like that these shields scale off of health, because I think there should be a reason for players to actually put points into health. The problem is the way damage and resources are scaled right now. Health doesn't get to serve double duty like magicka and stamina right now, and that's a big problem, particularly when health was scaled down.

Not saying it's this way for everyone, but my flying blade does in fact do more damage than steel tornado (though they hit for comparable amounts on low health targets).

I'm guessing the lag has more to do with number of targets hit, or possibly deciding where to cap the targets hit.

My flying blade does more damage than my steel tornado too, but I'm mostly trying to make the point that the difference is very minimal, and you're right particularly at the execute phase. The main point I'm making is that AoE is just too good in pvp. If they could just remove the incentive to use aoe's apart from tactical uses (caltrops for instance) I think it would go a long way toward enhancing performance as well as making pvp a lot more interesting. Big groups will still have the advantage, but it will be much more tactical which I think most real pvp'ers would enjoy.

If prolonged dots means we are to keep damage per second constant it will be pretty ok for pve. Otherwise it's a straightforward nerf. Pvp wise i just don't know, Wrobel seems to like his nightblade much more then the game balance.

Oh... no ofence, but pls shut up... "crazy things" :D DK is dead and no one care. Wings you say ? One cc and you are goner... 1v1 you say ? in zerg vs zerg game? Even 1v1, every decent player will kill you, no mater how long you fap fap wings (decent, not even good).

I wouldn't be concerned with posters who incorrectly state the magika dk is fine. When I log onto the game and play either pve or pvp we discuss these issues and I have yet to find one person who honestly believes magika Dks are in a good spot right now. Everyone believes the magika dk needs buffs. I cannot believe the devs would be so out of touch as to not recognize and fix these issues.

DK - We're looking at making their dots stick to targets longer.

DoTs are useless in PvP with all the purges.
Exactly. But, that's the sum total of all the 'buffs' planed for DK for the next update cycle.

Don't worry though, Wrobel knows which class actually needs the most help in order to be brought up to par w/ other classes.
Nightblade - Morph and passive ability improvements.

This is literally dejavu when it comes to games. This is EXACTLY what happened in SWTOR . Commandos ( heavy armor dps ) get shafted and get a piece of lettuce thrown at them, and assassins (stealth class) get constantly buffed into ridiculousness and get a *** 12 course meal.

Magplar is leaps and bounds better than magdk. Playing both at the moment, and at lvl 10 i can at least be semi viable in bwb, dks even at lvl 30 are just pitiful.

So the genius devs plan is to make DK dots last longer and buff the NB again. Dots.... is this Wrobel guy that clueless. The last class in this game that needs any sort of buff are NB. Magika DKS need major buffs. Fix what is broken. Do your job ZOS.

Fella you quoted was joking. You know. To make people laugh.
