I like that you took your time and enjoyed the content as opposed to rushing to end game.

So I can:
(1) Do Caldwell's Silver/Gold thing. But how does that work? Do I just do the quests in the other two zones? I can't do Mages/Fighter's guild because they're done. So do I just do the "main" quests or can I do all the quests in each zone. And are they different quests (different writing) or is it the exact same quests, which seems kind of silly.
Still, this is attractive for skyshards and the quests that give you skill points.
(2) Go to Orsinium.
(3) Go to Cyodiil and do the quests, get skyshards, grind, grind, grind. Also, are there any quests in Cyrodiil that give skill points upon completion?
(4) Take a boat to Craglorn. I've really never been there. Are there skyshards/skillpoints, etc. Is it all runs or are there any quests?
(5) Go vacation in the IC and get ... ganked!! Get some skyshards, too, but also get GANKED!! Yay!!!
I can't think of anything else except crafting and ... fishing.
Agreed, that's the right way to do it! It was enjoyable like this for me as well, even with eight characters when I knew all the quests... there still was the nice story-driven "how would -this- character choose in the upcoming quest choice?"RizaHawkeye wrote: »With Sinarii, I just started doing the AD quests, doing them when I wanted, doing other things if quests got boring.
Much more enjoyable experience.

Ironically, the person who told me to buy the game, rushed me through it on my first character. Got me all way to level 49 by grinding six, maybe seven grinding spots. I didn't hate the experience, but I wasn't liking ESO very much.
I eventually deleted that character and kept two: my current V1 character and templar that I'm going to write off as a fail. With Sinarii, I just started doing the AD quests, doing them when I wanted, doing other things if quests got boring.
Much more enjoyable experience.

So this weekend was a big weekend for me. After four months gameplay with this character, I finally completed the entire Aldmeri Dominion quest line, the guild quest lines, did Coldharbour,, reached Vet levels (last night), and finally faced off against the big MB. I still have some cleanup work to do, but I completed 90% of the quests (including all the main quests) for the AD.
Looking back, I have to say that - despite some things that could be changed for the better and some pretty necessary fixes that are needed in the game - I really enjoyed myself. For the most part, I found the quests to be entertaining and well-written. There were a number of surprises along the way that kept things from getting too repetitive (of course, the quest mechanics - go kill x number of enemies, go find x number of thingies, kill this boss with a bucket of health points ... yeah). But the story was as good as any other game I've played, and I particularly enjoyed the mane quest line in Reaper's March (I know, I know ... worst pun ever).
The bottom line is I'm glad I bought the game, I enjoyed it, and I feel I got my money's worth. I just want to say to everyone on the design team at Zenimax: nice job! I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of the game now.

It seems you did it properly. Is your friend who rushed to the top still around?
Congrats, it's a great milestone, you still have a long journey young Padawan.

Indeed, just like that. Well, not "must do"... but its better for your character if you do indeed go through with it, get all the skyshards, get all the quest skill points, get all the mages guild books (or at least enough of them to max that line). You'll also earn good money and a nice helping of champion points.RizaHawkeye wrote: »
