@ZOS_GinaBruno and @ZOS_JessicaFolsom:

So this weekend was a big weekend for me. After four months gameplay with this character, I finally completed the entire Aldmeri Dominion quest line, the guild quest lines, did Coldharbour,, reached Vet levels (last night), and finally faced off against the big MB. I still have some cleanup work to do, but I completed 90% of the quests (including all the main quests) for the AD.

Looking back, I have to say that - despite some things that could be changed for the better and some pretty necessary fixes that are needed in the game - I really enjoyed myself. For the most part, I found the quests to be entertaining and well-written. There were a number of surprises along the way that kept things from getting too repetitive (of course, the quest mechanics - go kill x number of enemies, go find x number of thingies, kill this boss with a bucket of health points ... yeah). But the story was as good as any other game I've played, and I particularly enjoyed the mane quest line in Reaper's March (I know, I know ... worst pun ever).

The bottom line is I'm glad I bought the game, I enjoyed it, and I feel I got my money's worth. I just want to say to everyone on the design team at Zenimax: nice job! I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of the game now.

    Gz, you're 30% through the tutorial. :p

Seriously though, you still got so much to do. And I'm just talking about solo questing content.

Ironically, the person who told me to buy the game, rushed me through it on my first character. Got me all way to level 49 by grinding six, maybe seven grinding spots. I didn't hate the experience, but I wasn't liking ESO very much.

I eventually deleted that character and kept two: my current V1 character and templar that I'm going to write off as a fail. With Sinarii, I just started doing the AD quests, doing them when I wanted, doing other things if quests got boring.

    Much more enjoyable experience.

Grats @RizaHawkeye and you have lots more to see. When you get to Orsinium (which I'd save if I were you) it's got some great stories.

That's an interesting comment. I've just been wondering this myself today. What should I do in endgame? And how does it even work?

    So I can:

    (1) Do Caldwell's Silver/Gold thing. But how does that work? Do I just do the quests in the other two zones? I can't do Mages/Fighter's guild because they're done. So do I just do the "main" quests or can I do all the quests in each zone. And are they different quests (different writing) or is it the exact same quests, which seems kind of silly.

Still, this is attractive for skyshards and the quests that give you skill points.

    (2) Go to Orsinium.

    (3) Go to Cyodiil and do the quests, get skyshards, grind, grind, grind. Also, are there any quests in Cyrodiil that give skill points upon completion?

    (4) Take a boat to Craglorn. I've really never been there. Are there skyshards/skillpoints, etc. Is it all runs or are there any quests?

    (5) Go vacation in the IC and get ... ganked!! Get some skyshards, too, but also get GANKED!! Yay!!!

I can't think of anything else except crafting and ... fishing.

Aye, the first training quest you receive. Other than that, I don't think so.

If you don't like group content or PVP, this game will get pretty stale once you clear all the zones. Orsinium is a great zone and other than the world bosses, it can all be soloed pretty easily. Craglorn is designed with 4 person groups in mind. Most of it can be soloed as well with a good build. They both have quests, delves, skyshards, and dailys.

Once I finished all the solo content, I almost stopped playing. Fortunately, I joined a few good guilds an got hooked on vet dungeons and trials. I would check out some group dungeons and venture into cyrodiil. If those aren't for you, you will probably run out of gas and move on. Some like clearing all the quests multiple times, but that wasn't for me. After getting Hero of Tamriel title, I power leveled my Alts.

Doing Silver and Gold means you do the other Alliance zones as if you were starting a new character in those zones, only the mobs are Veteran Rank and somewhat tougher. Some people like this, some people don't mind this, some people hate it. I have 4 mains so I could mix things up and the content did not get too stale.

However the main thing you want in Veteran Ranks are Champion Points and you can get a ton of those from doing quests in Silver and Gold, or grinding on mobs.

Orsinium is fun, and I highly recommend it.

Cyrodiil can be a lot of fun, almost like a PvE zone if you pick a server where your alliance owns most of the map. However the mobs there are VR12, but your battle leveled so there is that. Oh, your battle leveled in Orsinium.

Craglorn is a good place to farm for mats and nirn, but you need to be grouped for most quests and delves. If your in a guild you can usually find someone who wants to do to the content. If your on PC/NA look me up, I could do some of it with you.

IC can be a gank fest if you go alone, if you go with a group, then your pretty safe. However the main reason to go there is to farm for VR16 mats (get Telvar Stones and buy the mats)

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    1. You're just playing in version of: "...how it would be if i be on the other side...". Different quests showing history from other point of view. Consider this as a spoiler. Order of unlocked zones is bound to alliance you're in.
    2. Orsinum provides nice made questline, skyshards, craft nodes, etc.
    3. Quests gives some experience (be aware of gakners) and every alliance have its "own" skyshards found in dungeons, near scroll temples and in open field.
    4. Skyshards. So far havent done any single quest there so can't say anything about awards after completion.
    5. IC is a... you know. Worth running in groups for grind/gank skyshards (NB is a easy mode), treasure vaults and a source of some armor sets.

Mages Guild book collection, finding lore books, finding hidden eastern eggs and so on.

Agreed, that's the right way to do it! It was enjoyable like this for me as well, even with eight characters when I knew all the quests... there still was the nice story-driven "how would -this- character choose in the upcoming quest choice?"

    1) - yeah, when you finish Molag Bal, you just talk to cadwells after the final farewell from the remaining companions, and you'll end up in some sort of alternate reality where you can experience the quests from the other factions (minus mainquest and guilds), grab all the mages guild books and skyshards, etc. Good for getting to V14 with the current lower V-rank costs, and raking in some c-points en passant. I generally play through my daily enlightment in cadwells, and if I have gaming time left, go play some alt or do PvP, or gathering, etc.

    2) - also possible, I tend to save that one for after cadwells on my characters though. better that way, reward-wise, due to scaled drops.

    3) - The daily PvE quests in cyrodil - five towns, each with nine or ten repeatable quests - give really neat XP rewards. But... danger of gankage. No skill point quests, but skyshards to be found. Also, the crafting-skill scaled gathering spots and such make it always worthwhile.

    4) - Craglorn is group-y. Fights balanced for having friends along (though at a vertain level, you can solo half of them), and some quests -needing- a group (one switch per character stuff). Having a decent guild to call on makes this a lot easier...

    5) - yup, that's how people roll there. Unless they get rolled over by some zerg. But if you play smart you can still bring home some TV stones. Be warned though, the fights there may just be some of the toughest in the game, even the "trash mobs" if you are alone. It's more like public dungeon balance methinks...

And true, there is crafting and fishing. Also daily undaunted pledges. Treasure chest hunts. Soloing stuff like word bosses (except the ones in wrothgar) or older public dungeons for the skill points in the group challenge and the achievements. Roleplaying. Farming for that one set of endgame gear you want to have when you get to V16. Living the live of crime to level up your legerdemain, and making a tidy profit from all the stealing. stuff like that... ;)

Oh, and by the way... congratulations on your mainstory finishment!

Happy to see you overcome this milestone, and I'm happy that you enjoyed yourself. I had a similar experience with my initial playthrough of DC, which (of course just my opinion) was much more interesting than the AD questline. But regardless of preference, it's great to see that you're enjoying yourself.

There are a ton of adventures still awaiting you, and as you progress through veteran ranks, it's going to be much more difficult for you. I guarantee that there will be times which having you saying something "OMG how the heck do I beat this?!" Keep your head up. Because even those of us who have been playing for nearly two years still have those moments (yes vMA, I'm looking at you).

P.S. I loved your pun, and don't care what anyone thinks about it.

Tbh, since this is your first time around, I'd go thru Silver and Gold first. You still have the regional questlines, sidequests, delves, public dungeons and all that. Plus skyshards and skillpoints along with the CP you will accumulate.

The PVP in this game is something I think everyone should experience. If you get a decent guild to run with you will learn a Lot about mobility, situational awareness and surviveablility. Just have to stay away from the lag lol.

    Again, I'd save Orsinium because it's a treat :)

Indeed, just like that. Well, not "must do"... but its better for your character if you do indeed go through with it, get all the skyshards, get all the quest skill points, get all the mages guild books (or at least enough of them to max that line). You'll also earn good money and a nice helping of champion points.
The other faction stories... well, you can experience them all this way, or you can have three characters, one per faction, and level all of them to the max, then declare the "favorite faction" one your main, as you choose.
Experiencing the game on different characters, different classes, different setups, that is something enjoyable as well, in an "Oh, I remember this fight, my nightblade had real trouble there, let's see how my templar will do..." kind of way. Its no wonder many people end up trying them all ;)
And like mentioned... you can always layer your gaming, use up daily enlightment on your highlevel, then work on an alt (the jumping from one to another also keeps things interesting in not repeating "known" regions too much in one go)

In the end, each as they choose. Have fun, regardless of your choice, since that's the main thing. Not how "effective" you do it, but how much fun you have doing it! ;)
