If player dueling is added would you "organically" try to play out Criminals vs. Enforcers

Obviously, I along with many others in the ESO gaming community am disappointed that the PvP element of the Justice system seems to be scrapped. If player dueling is added it would give players the ability to challenge each other inside or outside of towns and play out their criminal vs. enforcer dreams. Would you do this?

Also, I would highly suggest that ZOS revisit this issue and think of a way to implement it.

Another set of questions: Are we going to get Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood Skill Lines? Will Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests be available in all parts of Tamriel? Wouldn't it be best if Thieve's Guild, Legerdemain, Dark Brotherhood, and the Justice System were all connected somehow to enhance the game experience?

Yeah, if I saw someone stealing and killing people I would totally challenge them to a duel

Yes, but I would prefer some sort of in game mechanic to accomplish this goal, i.e. PvP Justice system

Dueling shouldn't be allowed in cities.

Yeah, I realize this is a mechanic in other MMOs, so yeah guess it would have to be outside city gates

No, because there isn't an appropriate survey response.

It's a pretty simple solution that has been suggested many many many times here. Simply add a PvP flagging system for open world PvP. You flag yourself for PvP and have fun. Once you approach a town your PvP flag is automatically removed or the player can no longer be attacked.

No, because there isn't an appropriate survey response.

What response would you like to have seen? I.e. what do you have in mind?

"Would you undertake the act described above?"

    1) Yes

    2) No

    3) Other

    4) Fishysticks?

If someone wants to explain their position, that's what posts are for.

EDIT: For reference, contrast. Survey 1. Survey 2.

Based on D&D's alignment, I would say I'm somewhere within True Neutral.

What that means is, I just don't care what happens all around me, so long as it doesn't concern me

If you could send the other player a challenge to a duel it would be fine. But not just because they want to fight you.If you dont want to fight them, you shouldnt have to.

I have no interest in participating in, or seeing, dueling. I hope it is toggled off by default and can't be done in cities.

Ultima Online had a system like this early on. Players could be attacked by other players anywhere, and players who were caught committing crimes were marked as criminals.

The developers expectation (bearing in mind that this was one of the first MMOs and no one really knew what to expect) was that most of the time people wouldn't attack each other because it would be socially unacceptable but marked criminals would be attacked, either as and when they were encountered or by dedicated peace keepers.

In reality what you got was large gank squads mobbing new and low level players and either protecting each other or simply being ignored by everyone else who didn't want the hassle of trying to fight them only for them to respawn and start over a few minutes later.

Not long after the game came out they had to split it into two copies of the same world - one PvP enabled and one where PvP was only possible in a few designated arenas. Both were available on all servers and you could swap between them freely, but the PvP enabled one quickly became a ghost town where no one ever bothered to go because there was no benefit to it.

I, personally, don't RP in the realm of text. Meaning, to some degree we all RP....in a RPG....so yeah. However, I would not enjoy pretending to be my character in a tavern of such behavior. But with a role to play that has action AND pvp? Oh h.e.double hockey sticks yeah I would. This would require organization under the dueling condition though. Thereby opening up events for guilds to run, mostly the RP guilds presumptiously.
