Need some help with force shock and morphs.

Questions:
1. How long is "insta-cast" exactly?
2. What are the chances of getting an [burn, chill, shock] effect by normal light attacks and force shock?
3. I don't seem to be dealing much damage at all using this ability. It is used, though, so I think I'm probably doing something wrong and should be dealing more damage. How would one use this ability, exactly? Is there a video demonstration of it?

3. Weave it with light/medium attacks. Crushing shock-medium attack-crushing shock-medium attack...medium(or light if you don't manage medium) attacks cancel the animation allowing for very fast weaving and relatively high damage(relatively because JUST Crushing Shock+base attack spam won't get you top endgame dps, but it is part of many, if not most, great magicka rotations). Medium attack is like a heavy that's not charged all the way, easiest done with fire staff - hold the attack button until you see the heavy forming and let go, it normally results in game registering it as a heavy with all the benefits of one. Bit tricky but you get used to it. If it doesn't work you can just do normal light attacks, that works as well although it's a bit less dps.

Oh and I'm saying Crushing shock because that's the morph I use. You can of course use the other one, it's debatable which is better. I personally think utility>bit more dps in this case.
