Connection to NA XB1 server error

Is anyone else able to make it to the character select menu of the NA sever on XB1? I live in New Zealand and have heard people in the U.S. Do not have the same problem at all. It started last night and has made it impossible to select play on the NA server without it crashing claiming it has lost the server connection. Somehow I am still able to connect and play on the EU server fine though, despite it being further away?? Before anyone gives me the dummies guide to restart my stuff I will let you know that has been done several times. Has this issue been identified and a fix worked on? Any response appreciated.
