Let's face it if you have ever been in Cyrodiil, you know all too well about the lag issue. I think it stems from not having objectives for different keeps. No matter who you are. A zerg, a big group, a small group or solo, you always just run to keep closest to the enemy. Trying to take the inner six keeps or branch off and go for a scroll. Rarely does anyone go take Dragonclaw, Brindle, or Drakelowe. I have an idea if implemented correctly could spread people out and change up some things.
So my idea would to make gaurds stronger, make siege damage and walls/doors of keeps progressly harder the farther into enemy territory you get. So the most well defended keeps would be the keeps that open/close the gate. To help take these more well defended keeps you can take certains keeps to gain buffs. Each faction would have 4 keeps that give those buffs. 2 minor and 2 major. Also taking these keeps would lower the enemies walls and npc's strength. For example if I am AD the 4 keeps that would give my faction buffs would be Brindle, Roebeck, Alessia, Drakelowe. The minor buffs would be the closer ones to IC and the major buffs would be the keeps on the outskirts. So it would be beneficial to players to go out to keeps like Brindle, Dragonclaw, and Drakelowe. So what ends up happening is that groups will spread out trying to gain those buffs so they can advance into enemy territory.
So say there is a big group just rolling through everything and blowing through keeps on their way to get a scroll. You could take a group and ride down to their major buff keeps and take their buff. They would then get wiped by players with buffs and stronger walls/NPC's. This would force them to have to try and retake their buffs.
I really think this would make groups smaller and spread players out. I have also been trying to incorporate Imperial City into this but can't seem to figure out a logical solution.
I wanna hear your guys thoughts. If you see an issue with balancing it, I would love to hear possible solutions.
