QoL idea - change to look of our crafted gear

Hey ZOS, small Quality of Life idea.

Game continues to introduce new motifs - this is a good thing. However, it would seem drop rates for upgrade mats have been ninja nerfed and mat reqs for V16 are a bit excessive. Now, I am not here to complain about crafting reqs or drop rates. My idea is this...

Would you consider introducing some sort of item in game, a transmog stone of sorts, that lets you change the motif style of crafted gear?

I.e. let's say I want to change the look of my V16 gold Armor Master from Xifkyn to Akivari (sorry if I butchered the spellings). It hurts a bit to come up with another 680 mats and 40 tempering alloys and 5 Kutas (and 5 Hakeijos)...and that is for main body alone; of course I would want matching weapons :p.

My idea is to introduce some sort of semi rare 'transmog stone' which would allow a player to change the look of their crafted gear to another motif they posses (note that since worn gear is bound, players must have their skills upgraded and have a desired motif for this to work). This could be coded many ways, which ever is most convenient for the devs; with one idea to simply have a morph option on the gear option screen (under enchant, charge, destroy)...if you have a 'stone' in inventory this option is lit up...you simply click on the new look from the available motifs you have learned - similar to how you can change the look to Imperial if you have the option.

This would not detract from the economy as players would need to learn motifs for themselves if they want to do this, therefore the (currently) absurd prices of tempering alloys and other upgrade mats might come down a little more reasonably but the cost of motifs might go up and come a bit more in demand. Furthermore, it would help us extend the enjoyment of our currently crafted gear without infringing upon the value of new sets introduced in future DLCs.

Just an idea. I don't really see any negative implications. Would love to hear everyone else's thoughts.

Thank you for your consideration ZOS. Respectfully~

Not a bad idea, but a waste of developer time in my opinion, just bite the bullet an re-craft. I got bored on my legendary orc julianos chest piece with a prismatic enchantment on so just went and bought an ancient orc motif, another hakeijo rune (or however it's spelt) and crafted another one.

That is why devs make costumes.

They could potentially earn far more money than costumes if they introduced such an item in the Crown store.

I know I would buy such a stone to transform my VR16 sword to an Akaviri sword tier 2 (aka level 22-) because it looks like a katana.

II can't recraft Briarheart gear or other drops. I hate the Reach motif with a passion, but I can't change it. So I wear costumes to cover it up, but the colors on the costumes don't match/reflect my character... so I don't feel like I have much choice. We need the ability to change the designs of gear. ZOS can even tie it into lore via the Alteration magicka skills.

It has been mentioned before, many times.
Yeah, we all would really love to see some "Master Crafter" perk that allowed changes in gear visuals. To make out favorite sets look our favorite way, and thus enjoy our characters all the more.
Costumes are a suboptimal way after all, who'd want to look like everybody else when we can express ourselves with some inventive character & gear design instead?
