Is it possible to solo "The Watcher in the Walls" Arena District quest?

I just started the Imperial City and was able to solo every District (which is fortunate since it seems no one quests in IC anymore, only Sewer Grind), except Temple District where I hid behind one the torture racks and took pot-shots at the boss while a group of AD cleared it and I got completion for it.
I've hit a wall in the Arena District though, I've been trying for days but can't clear the Arena bosses.
I'm V16, with Epic-tier V15 gear (5 pieces Hunding's Rage 3 pieces Ashen Grip for the weapon damage), Templar DPS (Two-Handed, Medium Armor, Aedric Spear). All 64 Attribute points in Magicka, with V15 tri-pots and V15 purple food. I've been trying to get a group for days but can never get more than 1 person, so I need to solo it.
Any suggestions on how to solo this?

I assume you are stuck at the last boss, since that one is the only one that is actually a bit challenging to solo due to the flame atro spawns.
Since you are a stamina templar you probably have the worst setup for soloing content in general however. I would advise you to always focus the atros first with sweeps and evil huntard. You will also need a lot off healing, vigor and rally alone might not be enough in all situations, try using a defensive ultimate (the one from aedric spear seems decent).
If you still cant complete it just go in with one other player. Even if the only thing he does is spam healing ward you will be fine as long as your damage is not atrocious (which it cant be with your setup).

If you are in EU i can gladly help you with the arena as well. Just ask.

I too ran into this on my EP toon. I could solo the first boss, but the second's adds were a bit too much for my level 43 (at the time) nightblade.

The atronach phase would be really hard to solo as well. Since they come in 4s and are hard to LOS.

I eventually called in a friend with an AD toon and he helped me, but we had to be on separate sides so we wouldn't kill each other.

Are you on NA PC? If so I can help you with it.

It's possible to solo that one, but very very difficult and I'd expect that the vast majority of players can't do it. You need a very solid build that you have a lot of experience with, and a lot of self-healing, and even then it's going to be very difficult.

Having said that, you say that you're using Hunding's Rage & Ashen Grip, with a two-handed weapon and medium armour, but you've got all of your attribute points in magicka? Did you mean to say your attributes are in stamina? Because that would make more sense with the rest of your build.

Actually no I'm stuck at the first boss. Most I can get him to is 25% health.
Had another guy with me at one point but a DC guy kept ganking us and he left :/

Hunding's Rage and Ashen Grip makes no sense if you are fully specced into magicka. You need to re-think your build if you want to have any shot at it.

I think OP mis-typed when he said all of his stats were in magicka. I think he meant to say stamina, because he's also got a two-handed weapon and medium armour.

You can always steal it. You can sneak under the platform where he's at, and when someone else comes to kill him in a group , unleash your ultimate on the boss. You'll 80% chance get trunced by the group, but you can just revive and sneak back to the boss corpse and grab the key.

A bit of a crappy way to do it, but I was tired of getting ganked while trying to beat him.

Lusianas/Seducer is a much better fit for MagTemps (in my mind anyway, others will disagree).

Oh, and for the record, when I said earlier in this thread that it's possible to solo this one, I didn't mean that *I* can solo it. I can't. I'm not a good enough player. Or at least I couldn't solo it when I tried - maybe spending a bunch of time soloing in IC has made me a better player. Maybe not. I know a couple of people who have done it solo, though, so I know it can be done if you're good enough and have a strong enough build.

As a Templar myself, I couldn't solo either Arena or Temple when I did them. (Of course I wasn't max level and had less than 100 CP, but still.) For Temple a zerg intrupted one of my attempts and I just lay there dead until they finished off the boss. For Arena I stealth behind some debris and logged out. When I came back an AD group was already on the second to last boss. So I stayed hiddened, with an invisi pot to help, looted the boss after they left and was on my way.

If you're not in a group of your own faction, I guess the best way is to hide and wait for a group from a different faction to show up and do the job for you. Use invisibility pots and just tag each boss with a light attack, you'll be credited. That's how I did it. Admittedly not very brave or elegant, but clever and efficient and fun ! :-)

You can learn a lot about boss mechanics by watching vids, regardless of the class involved. You should try it sometime.

From watching the video, vs a mobile range boss with multiple ranged fire minion spread out and little cover, a solo temp is largely screwed. I mean, if only we could still eclipse multiple targets, that would be something.

Also, isn't there a giant Clanfear at the start, or did they change that?

I watch lots of videos, though typically I try to find ones relevant to the class I am currently playing if possible.

While I am not discounting your achievements as a Sorc, in fact I enjoyed your video of Ra Kotu a while back, I don't think that your tanking the Ogrim with your pets while shooting it in the back helps a player that is going to have to face a boss head on in melee combat and figure out when to block and when to heal.

Besides that, the OP hadn't even made it to that boss yet, so those mechanics weren't relevant to the OP yet anyway.

My point is that if you made a video soloing from start to finish in melee range of the boss without pets then that would be a lot more helpful for the OP.

I was finally able to get together 3 other people and we were able to do it. Had to deal with a persistent DC ganker who kept coming in, but we just ended up setting up Caltrops and the door and he couldn't come in.
Finished the Sublime Brazier quest solo and goodbye Imperial City, I hope to never be back!

Yeah, temple and Arena can't be (reasonably) soloed (don't want to hear about the naked level 1 that has such awesome skill that he can punch the planar inhibitor to death, or beat Molag ball without the akatosh amulet buff), and gankers always interrupt both like total ***.

You can do either as long as you have a partner though, and you'll eventually find someone willing to help you out. The temple fight is particularly awesome, though you already completed it.
