From the year to come read it sounds like we aren't getting this until at least middle of the year.

Honestly we have all waited too long and anything further out than thieves guild for appearance change is too long in my opinion.

I am still not sure what the hold up is. It's not like its a game system where they have to figure out balance or effects on the economy. Just give us access to Chargen on a active character.

I'm assuming they're trying to put it inside the game somewhere, but why couldn't they just give us access to the character creator in the home-screen or something to edit them in the mean-time? I'm really curious as to what's happening with this.

Yeah, for me the announcement with the character customization store being under "longer term" was a bit of a letdown, since that's something I am looking forward to more then some group finder 2.0 or champion system stuff... and for way longer too!
For me, perfecting my characters is way more conductive to "social" then a better way to connect with PUG-players who I probably don't want to group with in the first place! And its something that should have been added way back with the crown store! Character appereance recustomization, namechanges, whatever, they are throwing away profit there.

ZOS really don't seem to understand how important character visuals and customization are for a lot of MMO players.

IMO it should be released along side the TG update, have it like it was in Skyrim, with the face sculptor in Riften sewers. but have it in all Outlaws Refuges (or at least 1 per faction)

TBH i couldn't care less how it is implemented, i just want the option to edit my characters visuals already. I mean it's almost been 2 years!

Add new hairstyles, colours and other options while you're at it please.

Indeed. The "criminal" DLCs like Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood would have been the perfect place to refit barbershop and other character recustomization features to ESO. After all, some people may wish to change their appereance once the wanting posters make their likeness a bit to well known...

And especially considering just how long we have been waiting for this, and how much profit they could make once its there, both from crown fees for their use, and from selling new options to use - new hairstyles, new makeups, new tatoos, new warpaint, new adornments...
And of course unlocks for cross-species colorings for eyes and hair, for those who want to play as "halfbreed"... possibly even new structural options, for people who want a taller-then-possible nord to play as distant relative of Lyris Titanborn, or maybe have a short, stocky "dwarf" (NOT dwemer) character... heck, they could even sell whole new races in the crown store (maormer, goblins, reachmen, whatever - just like Imperials, really)

Be it new options or just fixing some things I overlooked in chargen, or that looked all right there yet not so good i live game... I really, really want to have these options...
