Doing delves in cyrodiil alone. is it the rule only one boss spawns and delve cannot get Achievment

doing the skyshards in cyrodiil by myself, been into many delves were absolutely no one else was in got skyshard and went to all cavernous areas were you would expect a boss to be but only one say in the first cave, went round for at least 4 respawns of normal npcs and respawn of first boss still no other bosses. i assume the delves are design to be grouped and the extra bosses spawn with more than 1 player?

    I think there's a 10 minute timer on boss spawns in those delves, which IMHO is FAR too long. Delves with 2 or 3 bosses are the worst, because you can keep getting the same one over and over again.

    Coincidentally I've been doing these delves with an alt the past few days, more for the skyshards than for the achievements, but it would also be nice to clear them once and for all since I'm there. Had no issues in DC and EP zones, but 3 delves in AD territory simply won't spawn the bosses I need.

    It's a stupid mechanic. They should all spawn and be on a 20minute cooldown.. or better yet, get the PvE out of cyrodil

    Hi i assume you agree only one boss spawns if only one player is in the delve?

    In my experience the bosses are up almost all the time. The two exceptions I can think of are Pothole Caverns and Lipsand Tarn.

    there is always only one boss up at a time... once you kill him the next one will spawn based on a timer... it can be a bit time consuming.. but then again this is an MMO :P

    Hey, you have it good now. When the game launched those bosses used to have HOURS long timers(I've heard of people waiting for over 6 hours til giving up) - and no, they still didn't spawn all at once :tongue:

    I don't think it's specifically one boss a cave seeing some have 4-5, it's several bosses at once(I think) but never all of them. The mechanic is similar to that of public dungeons - kill those that spawn and pray to RNG that next time you get what you need. To be honest it's not that bad now that(after what...a year or something?) they fixed the timers.

    I feel your pain. Cleared them all out months ago and it was a gigantic pain to spawn certain bosses... i'm looking at you Lipsand Tarn.

    It doesn't matter how many players are in the delve. Only one boss spawns at a time. Since Cyrodiil delves can have up to 4-5 bosses per delve some of them can be time consuming if you are going for the delve clear achievement. Just keep running the place in a circle and make sure you kill the bosses ( even if you already killed that particular one) so it gives the other ones a chance to spawn.

    While you're running in there you might as well take advantage of any heavy sacks and chests you find as well. You'll find that your inventory will be full of goodies by the time you're done :)

    True. Wish I'd done this on this alt 1 year ago. I've been selling martial knowledge gear with divines to vendors like there's no tomorrow, last year before 1.7 they were worth 100k each easily.

    To clear things up, here's my understanding;

    There are 2 rules.

    1- Only one boss spawns at a time, and which boss spawns is random.

    2- A boss has a 10 min timer before respawning.


    These 2 rules mean that IF you are lucky, after killing the first boss, the 2nd can spawn AUTOMATICALLY if IT wasn't killed in the past 10 mins, and then the third, and so on. HOWEVER if you are unlucky, after killing the first, the first one will respawn, and it gets set on a 10 min timer, while you run around wondering why no new boss has spawned, and then when it finally does, either you or someone else kills it, and again that first boss ends up respawning (on a new 10 min timer). These mechanics - coupled with the fact someone might actually kill the boss when it spawns super fast while you run around trying to figure out which one spawned, - effectively kills boss farming (which is the intent) , but also gives way to a lot of possible griefing.

    Keep in mind these mechanics also allow for the possibility to clear a dungeon withing 5 minutes if lucky.

    I would love if it was just all bosses can spawn at same time and have a timer, but then we had so many problems with bots in delves at launch and this really did kill the bots' efficiency.

    Yeah but they fixed the bot issue by reducing XP and loot from same boss kills within too short a time period. Those long timers aren't necessary any more.

    I've cleared all the Cyro delves on two alts, and read many threads on the topic here. A few things need to be illuminated:

    More than one boss can be up, especially if there are more than 2 bosses in the delve. When a boss is killed, another boss will spawn, usually within 10 minutes (you got that right, peoples). The new boss spawn is RANDOM, meaning it could be a boss you haven't seen, or it could be the same one just killed. Due to the 'wonderful' RNG in the game, you could kill the same boss many times before a different boss spawns. That means players have to keep traveling to the various spawn sites, repeatedly killing bosses, until desired boss spawns. Keep in mind you have no way of knowing that while you are camped on one boss that someone else is killing the boss you need elsewhere....just because you didn't see anyone, doesn't mean some NB is not sneaking around. This can make it seem like some bosses never spawn. edit: OP, doesn't matter how many players are in the delve, it works the same with 1 or 24.

    The worst delve is the one with 5 bosses, 4 at the bottom, and one a long run at the top. Only two bosses are up at a time here, and since most of them are in the bottom, it can be very difficult to know when the top boss has spawned.

    For those on PC, Public Dungeon Champions add-on is a great help clearing these delves.
