I am v16 imperial templar and wanting to make it into a tank, I am used to stamina only so just need a good tank armour.

I can craft 7 trait heavy and 6 on shield and metal weapons if that helps.

It is what you want it to be. You dont have to take the healers AND the tanks job at the same time lol. I usually just tank on my imperial templar, but take over healing when needed. Just because, there's a lot of healers that needs dungeons in my guilds, I dont want be a meanie.

The problem is, you cant help much with dps, cc or debuffs on a templar tank. You cant block cast offensive templar skills. Try spamming Puncturing Strikes or Radiant Oppression on a hard-hitting boss or in the middle of a trash pack...see what happens

But you can always help a lot with healing and support while still tanking, you can heal maybe 60-70% of what a proper healer can do. That's why templar tanks, can do the healers job to, if the group is decent.

I think 2 pc Engine Guardian is the best gear investment for a templar tank in dungeons. The synergy with the set is really strong, compared to other classes using it. Rune Focus proc's the dwemer, almost for free since the skill is so cheap. You or any other templar can use Repentance on it when it dies, so free stamina every time. If you're tanking without another templar in the group, that set will replace your lack of stamina management.

I know I wouldn't be able to do mass damage but being under the assumption of you could only use stamina as a tank because to pve as a tank you would need to use the skills to taunt the bosses and mobs that's were I was confused.

Magicka tanks are better, Imperial is also the best race for it.

I regularly heal/tank dailies, it certainly seems the way to go.

2 Bloodspawn (would love to replace with Engine Guardian but no shoulder, you can repentance the dead bots to sustain your own stamina).

    3 Willpower. 1 x shield play 1 x Magicka cost reduction 1 x Magicka recovery

2 x Torugs Pact sword and shield

Any Magicka 5 piece. Seducer, Magnus etc. I use Kagrenacs Hope but Seducer would be better.

My stats are 36/22/16.5k but as an imperial those stats would be far better. At least 26k health would be ideal, you get that with your race.

    Any more questions just ask.

Edit: I use 5 heavy 1 med 1 light. Infused on head, chest, legs and a mixture of reinforced and divines on rest. I believe 5 heavy 2 light is also very good, I just like extra stats from my undaunted passives.

I always thought that the tank abilities scaled from stamina?

I literally deconstructed the blood spawn set the other day damn! I have a couple guys that will farm with me for sure. I will use this build at v15 mats to start with see how it plans out as I dont want to rush into it again.

I have 260 champion points also what would you recommend I spend them on.

You only need stamina to block. Your magic is most important for Wards and healing everyone.

I put 75 points into block cost reduction for the passive, some into healing received, blessed or Thaumaturge etc. Balance out stuff like elemental defender, spell resist, increase heavy armour, damage reduced from dots. All the obvious really, you'll need 30 points in whatever it is to get spell crit as well.

I use the Magicka taunt from Undaunted skill line (unmorphed). But sometimes use the regular one on the other bar.

Are you on PC EU? I have Robust Willpower jewellery spare although they are really cheap. Healthy is another cheap option.

Cheapest set up, Arcane necklace, 1 Healthy ring, 1 Robust ring. That'll cost you little gold.

well i play with imperial stamina tank temlars long time. At this moment using 5 armor master, night silence, 3x endurrance jewelery ( robus) and 2 engine guardien but its not necesary i sometimes use blodspawn or scorge harvestr insted this and its not big diference. you can use hist bark isted armormaster abut i like armormaster 5set bonuses toomuch now. With this i have around 28k + HP 15k of magika and over 32k of stamina.

I paly it as support tank and using magika onyl for chaneling focus and sun shield, all otherr skils are stamina ( using undaunted stamina morf taunt too.) as ultimate using agresive horn for buff group dps or barier if is protection need, repetence to restora my and staminina dps stamina resources, power of light for minor sorcery buf for group and reduce armor and spell rezist of mob by 8%, vigor for self heal and HoT for group and pierce armor ( ih/s taunt) for debuf mobs too.

as defens skils using chaneling focus for armor and spel rezist buff and mana recovery, sunshild for dmg absorb ( 10k shield is rly not bad) immovable brute from HA tree for brak free reduce cost, 5% hp boost and armor and spell rezist from armor master 5 set and shuffle from MA tree to get 20% dodge chance ( better then hist bark bc wark pernamently not only when blocking) cler slow and buffs from armor master
