Getting Robbed of Flawless vMSA Run (updated)

Maintenance for the week of March 17:

    I definitely panicked/chocked after not killing the boss. Because I just didn't see him surviving as a possibility and it took me by surprise (and it wasn't a possibility if it weren't for the bugs).

    Overload Heavy Attacks were ticking for 8K and my light attacks ticked for close to 25k. My Overload got stuck on heavy and because I was unable to see my animations I didn't realize it before it was too late. By that time, I panicked, and got killed as a result.

    I don't typically use overload in pvp so I'm not familiarized with the inherent bugs it has. It was just unfortunate that both the bugs happened at the same time. Because if only of the bugs happened I would have killed the boss.

    If the heavy attack bug happened I would have seen my character doing the heavy attack animation, I would have quickly cancelled it and then began light attacking.

    If the no-visual bug happened I would have still thrown light attacks and killed the boss even though there was no visual.

    The unfortunate thing is they both happened, causing me not to realize I was casting heavies and as a result not having the dps to kill the boss when he was definitely low enough to be killed.

    Imagine if he was on console though at least he could Identify what exactly went wrong because of damage indicators but on console it is worse and old bugs have not been patched plus you can't even tell if your attacks are hitting or not...

    I would have been so angry if this happened to me! I never rage when playing games but this would've made me quit ESO for a couple days for sure.

    Ahh, I didn't notice the hits were heavies. Yeah if your overload hadn't been stuck in heavy you likely would have killed him...although for whatever reason he never dies at 0% health for me. It always takes a few more hits to kill him so who knows for sure.

    I almost had it as bad as you before I got my flawless. It was the third or 4th round when a daedroth spawned and I had to cas t my ghost explosion to stun him. A ghost got too close and I dodge rolled away from it then hit my explosion synergy....only to pop a damage sigil instead. The daedroth was already on top of me breathing fire by then and even though I hit X again to use the explosion it was too late and killed me regardless.

    Why they decided to make the explosion synergy the same as picking up a sigil is something that I'd put money was on was a troll attempt because from an interface design standpoint it was a terrible decision.

    Theres always next time think you got to chalk this one up to bad luck we know there are bugs and they are being fixed but as with any game things like this can happen or your router can act up at a crucial moment etc. This is one of the many frustrations of being an avid gamer but I'm sure you will do it and it will be even sweeter after this set back but gratz on a great run mate and hope the bug boss is more forgiving next time.

    Ezareth, the boss stays at 0% if he is doing kind of a mechanic atm. Like i have to finish my cast or the world will explode :D

    Haha I've done this..and its likely because consoles lack button assignment options, but i still felt trolled.

    I feel your pain. Stages 9 (and 6) need some fixing. The mechanics are just fine if I am lag free, but no amount of skill can compete with 2k ping. My first time to round nine, my ping was so bad it was unplayable. I gave up because I had been in there for like 8 hours. The second time, I got booted at the round 9 boss and lost progress.

    I am torn on this arena. I really want to continue to farm it for weapons, but the stability is very unpredictable. I dont see myself with a no-death any time soon, but I can only imagine how frustrated you were.

    Edit: Also, Overload is hands down the buggiest skill I have used in this game. It is great, especially in arena, but I have had my bars lock because of it on multiple occasions. Most say its from pressing LMB to quickly, which might be true, but I am pretty careful about it.

    The fact that this kind of issue isn't even remotely surprising just boggles my mind as to how this game got MMO of the year. Still no green post on this particular bug or the entire mess that is vMA in terms of game breaking issues. Too busy hot fixing quest bugs that have work arounds if you read the quest logs I guess.

    ESO being MMO of the year is simply proof of the poor state of the MMO market. It's also the reason so many people still hang on to it. But this year might be different, as there is quite some stuff coming up. Who knows?
