It would have to become available only after completing cadwells to avoid troubles with quest progression...
And if it was ever done, it ought to be done properly.
Meaning, not just "buy token, poof over to new alliance", but with an grand questline taking you all over your "homelands", of an "loyalty called in question" flavor, whereas you get a choice to either stay and prove your loyalty, find out who framed you and so on, or defect to another alliance, with the rest of the questline being quite different depending on what choice is made.
Who knows? mAybe someday they will add this, it might make a logical next step after Meridia arranging for you to experience the other alliances throuzgh cadwells silver/gold... but as mentioned, doing it right would be quite a bit of effort, and I fear most of their efforts in the future will go to things that bring them extra income, DLC-wise.
But who knows? It might happen...

Oh?but then again the PvPers who don't like PvE have to complete cadwell's for it. you know the cries about that will come
We've got some guild mates who started characters in a different alliance to the rest of us as they didn't realise which alliance we were in, unfortunately this means we can't group with them and the only time we can see them is as enemies in pvp, although weirdly it does allow you to add them to guild but not groups. Will there ever be an option to change alliances? I understand this could be abused for pvp so either it would have to be a one-time only change (or significant time restrictions on changing) and/or a cost associated with it. Thanks!
I'd be happy to defect from AD to be honest I never realised what evil SOBs we are until I did the other 2 alliance quest lines, every particularly despicable plot seems to come from AD. I'd happily switch to DC or EP just to get away from the psychos running AD.
Great! Thanks for the info!Refuse2GrowUp wrote: »Actually, in a recent ESO live they said they this is in the works and coming soon. No idea how it will be implemented, but I guess it is in the works

I was certain that it was said there will NEVER be alliance change, but I guess I heard it wrongWe've got some guild mates who started characters in a different alliance to the rest of us as they didn't realise which alliance we were in, unfortunately this means we can't group with them and the only time we can see them is as enemies in pvp, although weirdly it does allow you to add them to guild but not groups. I just checked this question to be answered in the latest eso live. there will be appearance change (barber shop), name change and alliance change in the future. Only thing that will not be changeable is the class. said Gina.

Why? DC has the best questlines and zones imho I wish I'd been DC from the start and will certainly consider moving to them if alliance change ever becomes a reality.
People have been saying that for as long as people have been talking of alliance change options. Between people changing campaigns, and people playing alts, it would already have happened if it had any chance to happen, I reckon.NTclaymore wrote: »If we get that option DC will cease to exist.
