Yeah, your troll thread was more convincing than AngryNord's as there were bald faced complaints about alleged QQ'ers over there instead of being masked behind sarcasm.
I know it hasn't been feasible since launch, but this game would be so much better if it didn't limit you to predefined classes. Contrary to all the Skyrim hate around here, other TES titles allowed you to spread your wings. If there were a "build your class" scheme to this game, the character development aspect of this game would be infinitely more satisfying.
To clarify, all abilities would be part of a skill line. All skill lines can be be learned concurrently (eventually) so you have access to practically every ability in the game, while out of combat. Choose 2-3 skill lines to elevate from minor to major (aka specialization) empowering the corresponding abilities. Each permutation of selected major skill lines would have a predetermined class title so peers would have an idea of your repertoire. Your specialized abilities would be more potent in practice, but you'd have access to other abilities if so desired.
MrDerrikk says this game is awesome because of it's variety of play styles, which is so sad. Well, I just saw a thread about a Frost DK. In combination with Draconic Power, a Fire skill line would make you a Fire DK, Frost for a Frost DK, and Shock for a Shock DK. Everyone here is accustomed to the current system so they only ever cry "nerf that" and "fix the lag," but I assure you it could have been better.
Regardless, it's much too late for any of that (although I can dream,) so don't bother telling me to QQ
But... but... the VR part was the very best feature! I sooo want that! Okay, the dying part, not so much... but... gimme a blue and a red pill, lemme grind them up, mix the powder, press it into a purple pill and so take 'em both so I can be on VR online games knowing full when its all an illusion......Let's make a Sword Art Online then.
without the VR part tho... and hopefully without the 'you gonna die' part as well.

problem is you have to easy acces to many skillpoints, which is good in the current setup up. but if you have acces to all the power difference will get immense not just about level (now with battle leveled this isn't a problem anymore) but sheer amount of skill points, which give more passives which stack which in their turn stack again with cp. so no i don't think this is a good idea. and you would see even less difference of type of players in cyro

How is it sad? As others will testify (this has been talked about before on here) people would simply cherry pick 1-2 builds that can do everything, with FOTM skill lines that you must choose or you'll be kicked for being a special snowflake. It's a similair argument for as to whether there would be more or less diversity if softcaps were brought back as opposed to the current meta of stacking one stat, but that;s for a different thread.
Alcast's Frost DK for Maelstrom (I assume that's what you're referring to) works as it gives an extra amount of much-needed CC to help control the movements of the mobs.

Yes, I suppose my comment was based on the fact that people choose FOTM builds rather than making a character their own so any way you look, clones. With that mindset, I really think everyone copy/pasting build would be just as happy with that "I win" button.
I think this is the Frost DK thread I saw.
No weeaboos will infest it like cockroaches infest a hoarders house...Let's make a Sword Art Online then.
