The new outfits look pretty bad in-game (Sand-Kissed Salwar and Whisperweft Gala)

So I'm not sure why they look this way or if they look better on PC but on Xbox one.....

When I say bad, I'm describing the lack of detail, shine, the materials look like cheap clothing instead of fine fabric. The first photo, this should have semi transparent legs like I dream of Genie back in the 70's - 80's
From an artist perspective, it also again does not for the character model and fall or sway to compliment the characters figure.

It looks like a clown costume

They look the same on PC (with all graphics options set to high/on except Ambient Occlusion).

The pink one just looks like pyjamas, I imagined it looking like slightly glossy silk. Even the grey (presumably metallic) parts just look flat and dull.

The effect isn't so bad on the other one, it looks like thick cotton and leather so the flat, dull textures look more appropriate, but neither looks like it did in the preview.

I am thinking of buying the purple one for my Argonian. I noticed the claws clip with the shoes (even with the sandals). It is MUCH less noticeable than on the breton outfits because of the shape of the shoes (on the purple redguard outfit, the clipping looks just a couple of pixels under the shoes, it is really hard to notice).

In a perfect game, we would have armor and outfits to be slightly modified to include a "tail window" when a Khajiit or an Argonian is wearing it, but I came into terms with the tail clipping after seeing that absolutely no armor or outfit in the game really accommodates the tail. It obviously isn't a feature that many people care about, maybe because they are not very popular races. But if I can't have armor or outfits that do not clip with the tail, at least I would like to have outfits that do not clip with the claws. I know a fix is coming for the breton outfits, so I hope a fix will come for the redguard outfits too, even if it is almost nothing
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Meet my characters:
Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

They make like... boob dents... on female characters. I don't get it.

For the whatever consecutive month, the female costumes look better on men. Great for Priscilla Queen of the Desert fans, I guess. But if they want to actually sell costumes to females with female characters, they probably need a new programmer to work on these.

It's like ZOS doesn't understand what is considered "attractive"... or maybe they DO understand but are trying their darnedest to make sure ESO isn't one of "those" MMOs.

I'm pretty convinced they desperately need the mod community though...

Don't be overdramatic @Typhoios 5 of the 7 characters in that picture are LESS "lingerie" like than the two new costumes from ZOS. My point is that ZOS' effort is coming across as LESS than amateur because amateurs made custom armors in Skrim and Oblivion that put these costumes to shame.

I really wish ZOS would just open their resources to the community... I can only imagine what we could get then....

The ZOS outfits are not trying to be armor. I think armor that doesn't cover vital organs is stupid. I agreed that the new costumes don't look good, but they are also not pretending that this is something a mighty warrior would wear into combat.

Wow. Yeah that looks pretty bad. With an outfit like that you'd want to give the appearance of lift to better define the cleavage and create the image of a fuller bust. Instead it looks as if the chest cavity has literally been inflated like a balloon.

You have a point there @""Typhoios " to be honest It's kind of hard to find non-skimpy clothes mods for skyrim... Most of the high quality mods aesthetically accurate mods are for armors.

I also realize much of the "problem" is the difference between single player games and MMOs.

I'd rather not, no. The "anime bikini plate armor" look is just a whole lot of nope. Of those, only the Khajiit and the Redguard seem to be wearing something practical for Elder Scrolls. Maybe the one on the right, too. The one in the middle looks like Harley Quinn.

We need to move away from the bad stereotypes of guys designing armor from a Victoria's Secret catalog.

I think it looks alright, I just saw someone wearing one in Stormhold (Shadowfen) and asked whether that was one of the new costumes, they treated me like I was some lad hitting on them though and did a range of weird emotes to indicate their displeasure with me. Never mind that I'm a happily married middle aged woman and was just asking a question about the costume.

On my Khajit (PC) the sand-kissed costume looks pretty well. But the violet one really looks like a pyjama :D
Still I hope that those costumes are the furthest level of "nudity", because The Elder Scrolls series never had armour/clothes that look as sh**ty as the ones in many other MMOS out there.
Concerning the MOD-picture I strongly agree with Preyfar.
