I'm told you can also ask to buy AP off dedicated PvPers if the AP cost is out of reach for you.

I am fine with the AP cost for the motif. What I would like to see (even through the crown store) is a way to buy the OTHER faction's styles. That split second of confusion could get you an unexpected kill.

If you're talking about the basic motifs, they are on crown store and they are also in most guild traders for dirt cheap.

If you're talking about the Imperial City alliance styles... then u can also wear enemy alliance styles, you just need to find somebody of that alliance to buy it for u. For example I am DC but I much prefer EP light armor, so I asked my friend to kill me and take all my Tel Var stones with his EP character to buy the same stuff I would have bought, but in EP style.
