PvP lag Problem Solved here!

Here is the ultimate solution for lag in Cyro.

Decrease the map size of Cyrodiil and open up PvP to all map zones in the game with objectives everywhere that influence the faction leaderboards. For the PvEr's throw in a flag option outside of Cyrodiil so they can have the choice to participate or not. Change the value of keep ownership so that it jives with the rest of the objectives throughout ALL maps.

Others get paid to figure this out so I am sure they can expand and refine this basic idea but overcrowding cause lag and crashes so spread the population out. While your at it, add player bounties as part of this. Utilize all the maps in the game since many of them are underutilized once questing is done.

Don't say it can't be done cause it has been done in other games. AION was an example of allowing one faction the ability to travel to another faction's "exclusive" zones for pvp purposes.

I'm mostly here to see the comments on this one...

But to contribute a bit, to take the game from separating PVE and PVP, to then go ALL PVP, with the option to just "opt out" of PVP would be a very poor design choice. Also, what stops someone from turning the flag off, fighting someone, then turning it on to taunt them? I see that all the time in the IC sewers near those ladders that grant immunity.

Suddenly you'd have tons of PVPers with PVEers, how does that help the lag? wouldn't that just add more people to certain areas? I know the goal is to spread them out, but at least with splitting them up, you know 95% of the people in Cyrodiil WANT to PVP as opposed to just out in the world, you don't know whos just there to complete quests and whos there to PVP.

If you're able to travel to other factions Zones wouldnt the NPCs kill you on sight for being with an opposing faction?

Also how does decreasing the size of cyrodiil work with capturing keeps? you'd decrease the size of the zone with the most active players attempting to complete the PVP goals, the trade off being what? I could fight someone in Glenumbra? for what? JUST to fight? that's not all of what PVP is in ESO.
"Why settle for just stabbing your foes when you can roast them alive in a gout of arcane fire?"

That's why instead of just having, what is it 6 keeps as the main focus for Emperor, spread it out throughout the game and invent new objective locations that also have to be dealt with, at various stages or whatever works best.

Flagging for pvp is nothing new, games have had that since Ultima Online. For example, you steal from another player (I.e. pickpocket) your flagged until you die.

SWG, back in the early days, you show your lightsaber in public, your flagged until you die to a player. Player vs Player bounties you were flagged till you died to the bounty hunter.

There are so many ways to have a lightswitch pvp toggle, the list goes on and on.

You wouldn't decrease the size of Cryodiil unless pvp objectives were added throughout all of ESO maps. Don't need such a huge map in Cyrodiil if it was set up that way...but it could stay the same...just ideas.

That type of flagging could be implemented for a small scale PVP, but it can't replace the PVP we currently have. It'd be good for the thieves guild and dark brotherhood DLC (stealing and bounties) but the objectives would still have to be Cyrodiil only. Have you ever defended the last keep to avoid your faction losing emperor? EVERYONE shows up., to have something similar in PVE locations would be drastic, as you'd have people jumping into a single location effecting those people PVPing and PVEing who want nothing to do with the objective. Worse still, if too many people go to a single location, doe they get queued? even if they're just PVEing?

The way to solve it is to get rid of champion points.

World PvP wouldn't really make a difference, since you can't go to other factions' zones.
