Question regarding magic in eso

will there ever be more ice/frost magic? i have this idea to make a frost mage but as you now theirs hardly any "ice" magic in the elder scroll online and why do you think elder scrolls online started with limited elemental magic? these questions have been going round in my head since day one open beta on the PC

Well there are a lot of NPC frost mages in the game, and the ice staff gives you a bunch of frost abilities, but I know that's not what you're talking about.

It's true that for players there are a lot of flame-related abilities and a lot of shock-related abilities outside the destro staff skill line, while there aren't any ice-related abilities outside the destro staff skill line (at least I can't think of any off the top of my head). If/when spellcrafting comes out hopefully this is something that can be rectified.

ya the ice staff skill line and ice comet(mage guild ult) is the only ice magic i have seen in the elder scrolls online and even some of the armor sets as far is i can tell there only 2 sets that to frost damage i believe winterborn and frostfire i think it's called. if and when spellcrafting a thing im really looking forward to making ice related magic summon a frost atronach or do that ice cloak thing i seen in the trailer of spellcrafting

Oh right, I totally forgot about ice comet. I prefer the shooting star morph (because I get to use it more frequently), so I forgot that the other morph is ice.

Personally I feel the lack of a ice magic skill line for would-be cryomancers is one of the sad things of ESO, and something I for one would like to see refitted (which is why I added that one to my often posted class morph ideas). I mean, Sorcs have lightning, DKs fire, there ought to be a skill line to support ice staves too, right?

i'v been toying around with ice on a sorcerer alt, have to admit ice is pretty lacking. damage mostly. this is why i made a thread with ideas on how to make the entire destro line more amazing by reworking it. each staff element having it's own "role" style similar to how most places work frost fire and lightning

I like ice for soloing in imperial city, using frost reach and light attacks as the main damage cannon freezes a lot of mobs at a distance and combines well with lightning splash. It's not bad for pvp either
