whole debate confuses me. "I levelled a class to max level then realised i didnt like it".

I find that hard to believe. you know if you like your class by rank 30. People want to just change to try something new or to be the fotm build. They don't want to create an alt and have to do the leveling, lore books, alliance rank and skyshards again. They want easy mode. but you havent earnt those things you want as the class you think you want to be. you dont even know the skills. its a nonsense.

I think ZOS is doing it right remove vet ranks also aiding in alt creation. class switching is just a silly request by lazy gamers who think switching class will make them super powerful because they think other classes are OP. despite never having played them.

I'm kind of against race change - though I understand the reasons and could consider it...

Jesus, guys. Vet ranks will be removed soon, so class change pretty much won't matter anymore. Just level your alt to level 50 and you're maxed.

All PvE achivments including quests should be avvount-wide so you can skip every PvE you already done once.

We had a meeting with top-end raidguilds and ZOS developers. They said race change and appearance change were in the works, but that class change was something they would not do, like not at all, never. With pretty solid arguments, you have 8 character slots (and maybe even more coming through the crown store), you can level each class, especially with the VR rank removal you only need to reach 50.

Honestly, I don't see any argument made against class changes that doesn't also work against race changes (and I'm not in favour of either).

yeah me too! Stam-sorc is fun and learning to play one well will definitely improve your overall game play, but they just do not stand up to the other sub-classes. Just started a magica Templar last week and I am at vet8 now. Wish I would have gone Templar from the start. I despise the entire nightblade class and refuse to ever make one. I don't care if they become the Only viable class, I hate any class that you can kill someone before they even know you are there. Half of my PvP deaths are "ambush, surprise attack, surprise attack, surprise attack, lotus fan". Between the invisibilty and the ridiculous lag in Cyrodil I don't even know I am being attacked before I am dead sometimes. Death to all Nightblades! Defend them all you want, I still think they are the dirtiest class in the game. Just my opinion

My hatred of the ganking NB's is why mines a support/healer only, with none of those silly skills

I remember when IC hit, almost evry1 rolled a nb for sewers gank style.. And now when IC isnt popular anymore, ppls are rerolling stamina DK, because its so OP and leap scales with CP nicly!! Yupi Well cant blame them, most of us like esy games - dont we?

Put some effort into it.

But some people just want everything handed to them gift-wrapped, and then complain there is "nothing to do" in the game... not something I would want to see encouraged.

You do not need achievements to progress your character so there is no valid reasons to make them account bound. Just ignore them if you don't want to re-do the content. If you are a collector-achiever sort ofperson, well then you will have to collect and achieve

Regarding the Classe changes. Those asking that are desillusional. Do you also want to be paid to play the game maybe?

You don't enjoy your class, well that's bad luck. Level a new character. Considering the Champion points, Ring of Mara, Xp potion, and other advantages in addition of the massive nerfs, this is really just a formality for the players that want to level up as fast as possible.
OR...you can also make a new character and actually enjoy to the whole experience again. Wouldn't that be nice?

Now, Zenimax has clearly said that there will be race change, maybe faction change, but class change NOPE, never. So forget about it already.

My vote is against class changes, but this reads like a post from someone occupying the OP class of the moment, who wants to continue enjoying the power trip over other "lesser" classes.

Also, nothing about your race change idea sounds plausible. If you were born a Nord, you're not going to magically be of Altmer blood all of a sudden. Not to mention, that entire paragraph contradicts you're whole bit about class changes... it's wrong to change your allegiance, and wrong to change training, but acceptable to change your DNA...? wtf

The only thing that should be changeable is cosmetics (hair/face)

Class change won't happen. The reason that leveling is important is so that you know how to play the deeper you get into the game. Changing your race changes very close to nothing besides trivial Stat bonuses and appearance.
Changing your class changes everything. It changes the skill lines available to you. It is a completely different character that you did not level and learn how to play on.
I personally get into enough bad pugs where the dps is getting out dps'ed by a permablocking tank whose only damage is puncture. I do not wish for more people who have absolutely no idea what to do... which is exactly what you will get with class change. Max level characters that have absolutely no idea.

Let me get this straight, you take a leap on what is logically the most counter-intuitive build you could make (stamina based sorcerer - think about that for a sec), and when it doesnt work out, you want to instantly go to the cookie cutter FoTM build? Yeah, no thanks...

Class changes are a terrible idea. Half of cyrodiil would change their class each patch as soon as people figure out the current OP build. I can get on board with race changes, but not class changes. If you want a stamblade, roll a new toon.

Also, not saying for one second that stam sorcs arent viable or even an awesome class combo. Just saying that it's a little out there when you first think about it.

I agree. Nightblades seem OP because they are probably the class best suited to a popular playstyle. They are assasins, they are good at getting in, slitting throats, and disappearing. Templars are a wonderful class, they just happened to be designed to heal, something a lot of people dont want to do. The result is that everyone thinks they are broken because they cant stealth and one-shot people.

Sometimes I wonder if these build videos do more harm than good. The reality is that players like Sypher, for example, are on another level than the rest. They can make any build look OP, doesnt mean it is.

Or you could just buy a race change potion in the Crown Store...

While I prefer your option, I dislike the whole concept of changing a character once it's been made. A character is for life, not just for Christmas !

Making alts is a CORE content feature within mmos that keep players playing the game. They will not abandon it. What the core problem is is the far too heavily vertical grind playing alts has on players. This is something trying to be tackled by ZOS because, frankly, they entirely screwed up by creating vet levels and forcing players to play the other faction story arcs.

This is why they are removing Vet levels and I can only imagine that some of the same player complaining about alt grind are the same not understanding why Vet levels are an issue. Even asking for a class change within an mmo proves they have zero concept of what an mmo is.

Now I can somewhat understand this because ESO, like most other AAA developers who made an mmo, is trying to attract non-mmo players and have watered down their game so much trying to clone recent mmo models that they failed to recognize these issues. I only hope they have the balls to change their game far more than simply removing vet levels. The path to 50 should have been shorter and used fewer zones. The last 3 or so zones per faction should have been left open in a scaling system just like Orsinium is now. This would not leave a short grind to reach CR points allowing easy alt creation and 11 (including Craglorn) zones accessible for play at any time (granted some needing CR requirements may flatline many but many players like a greater challenge when leveling anyway).

This would also open up all players to these zones and solve the issue of dead zones where only one faction is playing a clone of real faction zones (current vet zones). This game launched by a company clueless with how the game should be made but now with tons of metrics and feedback it could be changed into something great and more inclusive and social. This is the real issue and asking for class changes only reveals ignorance to the real issues as hand. Solving the issue of alts properly supports retention. Quick fix band-aids does not.

I do not believe it will come so soon. So maybe better would be to screw the NB if you do not like that class and start a new character
