Crashing to Desktop

Coming back into ESO after a long break. Nothing new. I have a new graphics card than last I played though. It's a GTX 970.

I have the most recent drivers for it. I have all optional updates for Windows. I'm on Windows 8.1 x64.

You're running out of memory... I spent the last few days tracking down the same problem on my GTX 970.

If you run the game in DirectX 9 mode on a GTX 970, it will run out of memory for no good reason. See the "mem.total_current"? That's in mb... so you had a 32-bit program using 3.7GB of memory.

If you do Windows Button + "R" (run command), paste in "%userprofile%\documents\elder scrolls online\live"

Open the usersettings.ini file and do a search (CTRL-F) for "driver" (without the quotes).

Change D3D9 to D3D11.

Fixed the issue for me.

However, if you're trying to run it in DirectX 9 mode for something like 3D Vision... you're out of luck (as am I)... that was my entire point of fiddling with that file and the Helix mod only works in DX9.
