[PS4] Zenimax, when are you upgrading the servers?

Played some PvP today, had a good group. But missed out on lots of AP, unable to properly contribute and got kicked from group a few times thinking I left.

This wasnt even Azuras Star, it was Skull of Corruption.
Some good battles, yet all I could do was watch as my screen turned from active to frozen then I get DC'd. It happened too often to count.

As a vr 16, PvP is pretty much all there is for end game after you complete Cadwells Gold.

And how can I enjoy that when PvP doesnt even work? Everything lags too much to play.

And not its not my Internet. I can say that because I can play WoW on a 4-5 year old laptop with out DCs on Alterac Valley, which is 40 vs 40.
I can play Planetside 2 on PS4 and not DC. That game is free yet runs better than ESO even when you have close to 100 fighting over a small area.
Even DCUO on the PS3 runs better, I didnt get DC'd from that game either.

So why cant ESO play as trouble free as those old/free games?
I know servers arent cheap, but how was this not part of the long term plan? To upgrade servers as the population grew, or just to upgrade servers so PvP is smooth.
Werent resources put aside for the long term or the foreseeable future upgrades needed to keep this game running?

I want to like this game, but priority on making the game run so we can actually play it as intended isnt happening.
Everyone comments on PvP lag, well almost everyone.
Id prefer no new content with better servers than more DLCs with a server that lags so much you feel cheated paying for anything.

Something really needs to be done about PvP lag. It needs to be addressed now, not when people start to move on.

I lag like crazy in Azura's but Chillrend is fine, presumably because it has a lower population. They seem to have set the max pop so high that the game can't run properly when its full. Skull of Corruption is a new campaign in Cyrodiil for NA right? Is it full?

There used to be 3x ppl on the servers with less lag then now. They just completely destroyed the game with all those *** unfinished patches.

I think it's because ppl who created the game are gone (at least that I heard) and those who are wroking there now are clueless.

    Cant any dev chime in?

Is it on the to do list?
    How high on the list?
Does Zenimax even care it lags?
Is it a low priority ?
Is it working as intended for Zenimax?

They've already covered this in their confirmed fixes coming with next dlc/major update. You're not going to get a dev to comment. It would be a mod and they will just refer you to what I said previously.

Was hoping for a "yes we know about the lag, and by Jan we will have enough to upgrade our servers".

Looking into the issue sounds like kids finding and ant hole poking it with a stick and walking away ...
Then they realise its a fire ants hole and feel the. Kind like the sting of players leaving and having less people bu crowns.

Unfortunately many performance situations can't be solved by throwing more hardware at the problem. I could write a 3 line statement of code that would bring the most powerful supercomputer array/cluster in the world to its knees in seconds.

ESO is kind of like that. It needs real optimization not additional hardware. I think the real problem is likely due to the fact they're working with middleware engines that they didn't write from themselves.

I play on Xbox One now and have NEVER had a DC...ever. Might be network or it might be your PS4. You might want to make sure your PS4 isn't overheating, vents blocked, etc. Game freezes on console normally are always overheating related. DC are network related and not a normal occurrence of the gaming engine. Large MMOs run hot and large battles can heat up any PC or Console.

Who cares that you played WoW. That was on a PC and besides, comparing games is like apples and oranges. Different game engines, different texture packs, different demands on the cpu.

As far as end game, so you've done all the 4 man and 12 man trials and dungeons? You have all the monster mask sets from undaunted pledge runs? End game in ESO has multiple facets, try some other things.

One of those people huh. Ok then.

First off if youre gonna run your mouth, then read before mouthing off.
Its not all over the place. Lag that leads to DCs. Laggy PvP content which I want to focus on end game. Its all connected.

Those tickets do nothing, i've already done them. All they say is the same copy paste nonsense, restart modem, restart PS4, check PSN. None of it is our end when I have tried them repeatedly. Many more people experience the same thing. I guess we all have the same ISP and modem model huh?
So ALL my online PS4 games dont DC, but ESO does so obviously it must be me and not ESO huh? ...

Thats great you have never DC, I wish I had that too. Just goes to show you dont know how annoying it can be. So you act like those who comment on actual issues are whinny.
Also its not a PS4 issue. Game doesnt crash, vents arent block and my room is air conditioned.
Thats why I can only assume its server related. When everyone makes a comment in game about the lag then its not just me.
Its not my PS4, its not my modem, its not my ISP.
The fact you tell me there a video on talks about lag in PvP proves its a real issue. Not some "oh go reset everything, that'll fix it" issue.

I care I played WoW, its a good example of how a old game does MMO PvP smoother on a system with lower specs than a PS4.
Yes its different, but its similar in terms of intense spells/animations going off in a small area. Was I suppose to use Limbo as a comparison?

Yes I have done most end game havent finished 12man since its hard to get a complete group when most of my guild would rather PvP. Got some mask sets, dunno why you asked if I had all because as a DPS I have no interest in tank or healer gear.
I've done cadwells gold too and all dungeons. Check my trophies for proof.
The area I havent spent a lot of time on is PvP.

I find amusing you tell me to go to the support forums (which I gave already done) and whine there as if to say lag is just my personal issue. Lag posts are everywhere in support forums, heck its all over the forums in some way.

All you needed to do was post the vid link and I would of said thanks, instead you act all elitist just because you dont lag and I do?
Jeez, we definitely need more helpful people like you.

In beta and for months after the game launched we had pvp battles 10x the size of current ones with no appreciable lag. Then came many patches, bot-search protections, and who-knows-what-else as "updates,", and pvp lag is now a joke if more than a few people show up to a fight. I am not a software guy, but I know what it was like before (great) and what it is like now (sucks), so all I can conclude is they screwed up their own game.

Voicing my in game experience shouldnt be met with such attitude.

There is an on going problem, I voiced concern to what I think could be the issue and a fix.
Just because I was vocal about it and highly annoyed at being unable to play didnt mean you had to be a jerk about it.

My game lags to the point I'm kicked from my game back to the title screen.
My game lags to the point of DC. And your saying it isnt a latency issue?
It didnt crash, game is still running. Its not overheating and its not my Internet if I'm still talking in party chat.

So what is it if its not lag? Seeing ESO is the only current online game I have that acts this way.
To me it seems the lag gets so severe I get kicked because I'm not longer communicating with the server.

    Not much better on PS4.

On release, I was surprised how relatively good ESO PvP played on PS4.
Some months later, Azura often is close to be unplayable:
    - large battles become slide shows with people smashing buttons blindly
    - game crashes several times per evening
    - buttons suddenly not working anymore and you get killed
    - skills are recognized but show no effect (skill sound but nothing happens)

ZOS says this is due to more players with high ranks and the complex CP system.
If this is true, please get rid of the CP system.
It is more important to have a working game.
I don't get 1 bit of lag in the IC though
The arena district is now the new pvp place, no lag, usually 40vs40vs40 or such.
Exactly. I also play arena district now on PS4 because of this reason.
So the performance problems probably are more because of Cyrodiil than CP points.

Well before ESO was released to console one could read the PVP forums (if nowhere else) and discover that the game had huge issues with lag and latency issues - particularly in Cyrodiil.

And yet people still went and bought the console game.

I get that a consumer should expect the game to perform somewhere near acceptable standards and perhaps even expect the game to perform as advertised. But really why think about buying a game that has been out for quite awhile and not read up on how the game has performed so far?

I did read and stay away from eso. But then a friend bought it, told me how good it was.
So I thought "ok, seems like the issues were patched".
I forgot to consider that my friend has zero MMO experience. So ESO to him is just skyrim with players.

Its one of the biggest regrets in terms of game purchases I have. And wish I could refund it but it was too late by the time i realised ESO wasnt what it was advertised.
To make it worse I play solo mostly since my friend quickly moved onto other games.

This is a problem i realised qute late after pc launch. ESO is babys first MMO - i have a feeling that because of TES paint job much higher percentage of players in ESO didnt play any MMOs before that it happens to other titles. Furthermore im surprised how many people played only WOW before.

The above results in people not beeing able to notice how far off from quality standarts ESO really is, and when they do its late in game and they already a. bought the game (ca-ching) and b. subbed for many months (again) or bought 2 dlc's (guess).

Agreed. Its like a teen telling you how good their rust bucket car is. Its their first car so of course they are happy.
Same with ESO, feels like alot of people who play console ESO have no clue what makes a good MMO. All they wanted was the next skyrim, and they got it with co op tacked on, so a lot were happy.

I have played a few MMOs on PC. WoW, Guild Wars, Rift, Warhammer (WAR) just to name a few.
On console DCUO is the only MMO I have played before ESO. Tried Destiny, but thats not an MMO.

So when I started ESO I noticed a lot of basic MMO features missing, but thought "its still early, MMOs shine the more you play".
Well, by then it was to late to get a deserving refund, so I stuck with it in hopes it'll get better with patches.
