Am I grouping wrong?

I joined the group finder for the first time last night for Fungal Grotto and the other two low level dungeons. After an hour and a half of wait time on the PS4 during peak North America hours, I got a group for Fungal Grotto. It was the worst grouping experience I've had in over a decade of playing MMORPGs. No one communicated, and we all kept dying. Each pull somehow involved like 10 or more mobs, and after several wipes the people in the group dropped off one by one. I'm sure I wasn't the best (I had a hard time targeting in a group setting without any sort of tab targeting), but is this a typical grouping experience in ESO?

I'm on PC...so at least we have text chat.

That being said, don't give up after one bad run!

Especially if you are a Pact player, since you are talking about Fungal Grotto, remember that this is the first group dungeon for most players at your level. Most are still learning the game and their builds, not to mention that most don't have many useful skills unlocked yet.

Don't give up just yet, running dungeons is a lot of fun in ESO :)

Group finder is veeeery hit and miss. On a console it's a lot harder, but I normally get my groups from outside the respective dungeons (or the Undaunted Enclave if you're above lvl45), and from asking my one of my PvE guilds.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

1.It is on console so I guess If you guys don't want to talk you do not talk.
2.In ESO the dps role is based around effectively switching between AOE and single target DPS. You do not need a very effective way to switch targets in a high mob density situation. You should AOE most of them and at most concentrate on 1 or 2 priority targets. The targeting system is enough most of the time and when you get experienced is mostly unnecessary.
    3. No it is not the typical experiences.Due to various reasons I mostly PUG these days on NA/PC/EP not using the group tool. If I stay away from vWGT/vICP, most runs end up being speed runs with a few deaths because no one bothers enough to make it a no death run. Fast and smooth.

    Some tips.
    1. if you are low level and just starting dungeons in ESO it may be better to find a guild and similarly skilled group of people. I had a very cool group of people that I have completed the dungeons the first few times. lot's of fun times.
    2. Concentrate on your role and try to do it well especial if PUGing. You may need to sacrifice some things that you think are "fun" for the success of the run. I usually find it way more "fun" to be effective in my role, being a valuable member of that run and occasionally getting praises for a job well done when healing or dpsing.

Negativity is taking over and fast. I tried to do new vet dungeons and found 4 group and all of those were joke, seems like players are giving it up. Recommended thing is to make friends with PS4 tools and do with them.

    I'm on xb1.
The platform you might think is full of immature people.
I've had one group I've left b/c of trolls.
    One.
Perhaps I'm lucky, as I have zero tolerance for morons.
The fact that I've been pleasantly surprised by the xb1 groups helps explain why I have begun to rabidly defend console users.

    It ain't easy being green.
