No duh. But if we keep bringing it up perhaps they will get sick of sifting through all of our conversations about it. Hopefully then they would do something about it.Everyone raise their hands if they believe this poll/subject hasn't been brought up at least a dozen times by now! I think ZOS has received the message loud and clear that console users want text chat. What they decide to do is entirely up to them. But keep in mind that they have shown in the past that just because the users want something badly doesn't mean it will be added to the game anytime soon, if at all.

The only ppl who are not satisfied are those who expected a old or traditional PC MMORPG communication offering.
Technology has improved, glad they are using improved methods over typing.

The recent social interactions is the easiest way to COD, send a msg, invite, etc in the voice social interfaces.

Many people do not have a mic. Its unfair to them. And trading is very hard to do without a chat system.

Solution:
Go buy a mic headset or just use headphones if you don't want to speak yourself.
I personally think getting a mic headset is a no brainier if you have a console and play games online regardless of the game.

Well some people don't have one nor want to be forced to get one because of a broken chat system. Good sir.

I agree with NBS that a mic is a must have. Anyone that wants to benefit the pro text chat position will not use the "no mic" argument. It's even more silly than the "no keyboard" argument the anti text chat folks try to use.
Everyone's experiences in this game are different. Some people say, "its too easy" and I'm like, "have you ever tried vma bro?".
NBS, Whatever your gaming choice is it works well with the current communication system, however, and we've been over this in the past, the MAJORITY of console players are not doing as well. Not because we are stupid but because the activities we do are different and we require more communication options. Someone who plays with the same friends everyday, or who found a very good active guild, won't need text options. Some of us do.
I jjust ask that we all try to keep our minds open to new ideas that benefit the game. Console is loosing players due to lack of communication, this is a known fact. I'm not saying the game is dying, I'm just saying that people are quitting because they find the social experience they need, and we don't want to loose a whole group of players for the same silly reason. This could be solved for many players with text chat.

Respectfully...we all have moved from one game to this one.
Its different, so we all, even myself benefit from being "open minded" to change our behaviors in favor of what this developer has offered by platform.
The use of "need" isn't correct, but its a want for many on the forums.
While playing in PvP, grind groups, dungeons, world interactions, towns, etc. as long as the chat system is active, thins are fine. The behavior of attempting to play this game like a traditional MMORPG will cause a lot of frustration but thats not limited to communication. That also applies to combat, builds, etc. so while I often get flak for my point of view, its based on what the developer has offered and knowing their stance on this topic, I and many others have found a better way to enjoy gaming when we've "opened our minds" to changing our traditional expectations and behaviors.
In extreme cases, there is always the option to go to PC and with all the recent game and crown sales...it a fair option.

"Need" is the correct word. Players are failing to adapt every day and they are unhalpy and some are moving on. If you are ok with over 80% of people being disatisfied with this game, and all the consequences that come with that (lost sales, reduced player base, shorter game lifespan, etc.) then that is your choice. I will continue to be pro text chat because even tho ive found a way to "survive" without I know how much it would benefit the game.

The game is presented differently than it appears a select group assumed but that doesn't equate to anyone needing a certain type or form of communication to find satisfaction. This is a game and a form of entertainment by design targeted for certain groups. Either people research, buy and enjoy, adapt, or even complain and dislike or possibly hate what's offered.
Depending on where each person falls and their willingness to try something different will determine their future.
No one needs anything as this is a game but specific to the topic, no one needs to be able to type as their console and the game offer multiple ways to communicate.
If someone so wishes to text chat, the console allows this but the game is designed for voice chat without limiting the consoles options externally for voice or text. In addition to this, there is a website for text chat if anyone feels that they personally "need it"
Ppl then complain about alternate methods but looking from different points of view, it's ppl on console who largely desire a PC experience. That's not the experience any console will offer entirely so we all know coming into game choices that it won't be the same. Either we read up and understand going in or we take a chance and get surprised.

These are all the same issues you and I have discussed many times before. I will argue this reasoning and you'll go on to the next. It always ends with you telling everyone to read your sig and that the devs say there won't be text chat. Then I reply with the reddit interview that took place after your sig vids saying they were unsure if text chat was coming or not. Then you argue whether your vids or my interview is more accurate until the thread falls to page 5. It's all feeling very scripted.
So let's try something different. Will you please explain to me all the cons for text chat that you can think of. No need to get back to me right away, tomorrow will be fine. We can discuss those. Maybe you'll even change my mind!

I'm not going to explain any cons to text chat because it's not being considered or even discussed by the devs and was specifically shot down by ZOS in console beta forums and again on ESO live.
I like hearing people talk and talking to people and have met a lot of very nice and cool ppl on Xbox live.
This game is just a big melting pot of more ppl and now I'm in two very active guilds, and honestly largely prefer the console way of communication as I work on a PC and have to do a lot sales, marketing and production work 6 days a week.
When I'm off from work I do not want to type anything but am willing to help ppl in the forums.
And also do support text chat for Xbox
That's at my own leisure so when given the choice to talk vs type, I always talk and being that at 35 years old I consider entertainment either watching, playing or participating in things where people use their voices...even going back to MMO's in 1990's I hated being forced to type.
When Xbox live came out I was on as a games manager early and always. After this every MMO after I would only play in guilds who used a voice chat for dungeons and raiding.
It's what I like and maybe to your surprise millions of others like this too.
Some are open to both text and voice but both aren't needed as proven in this game. Some other games may need it but this does not.
The game does need ppl willing to use what exists tho but that's already happening as I now listen to guild chat and prox chat while typing this while joining a group for PvP for a bit
Get in and enjoy the fun!

Find your happiness as it exists
Both aren't needed as proven in this game?
Please tell me how it's been proven that only voice chat is the most effective way of communication in this game.
That's your opinion. Those are your circumstances that seem to be working just fine for you. As usual just because it's fine for you and you enjoy using alternate methods, doesn't make it right or good for everyone.
I can get by using voice chat. That's not to say there isn't a lot of flaws with the system. Zone wide text chat, along with different channels, could more than make up for those flaws. Along with grouping. Even with the improvements, group finder has a long way to go.
So I agree with Robkrush, I want to see you come up with a valid reason to not implement text chat. Other than "I think it's fine without it." or "ZOS already said no."

The only ppl who are not satisfied are those who expected a old or traditional PC MMORPG communication offering.
Technology has improved, glad they are using improved methods over typing.
*Edit: I've also noticed that many are not familiar with how to use the games systems or choose not to learn.

To understand how voice is proven to be efficient....in this game....
Log onto your console or choice, play the game with voice chat on
I'm not here to fight or argue...if you don't want to use voice or don't prefer voice id say go with the PC version as it may be more to your desires.
As to coming up with reasons.....you all do realize I'm playing and have done so since launch and continue to comment to help others play who may not be familiar with the options that exist.
It's not a case where anyone needs to prove to anyone else why text chat isn't needed or why anyone prefers one over the other as it's not in the console game and isn't being added per ZOS
Maybe it comes in the future but if you're on Xbox one and need help, jump on the NA server and I'll be glad to assist.
