Items labeled as "Unique"

I have a storage character that is nearly full of the blue weapons and gear that is dropped by some bosses. All of this gear is named, but only some of it is labeled as Unique. What makes this Unique gear unique... style, color, enchantment, etc? One example is Papa's Backscratcher which is labeled Unique, but looks a lot like a regular Redguard mace. Also, I know there are some unique style item drops like the red mountain set and the anguish items from dolmens... but those aren't labeled as Unique.

I have sold all the items not labeled Unique at the guild trader, but the hoarder in me is having a hard time getting rid of the unique items. Is there any rule to the labeling of unique items? I know the dolmen drops are rare, but are there any other items that I might want to be careful about selling.

Unique means you may only have 1 of them.

The style is unique. If you equip them, you'll see they don't look like any other item. It's really to bad that they can't be incorporated into a Set, because some of them really do look pretty amazing.

Yeah, occasionally while leveling I had two complete sets with jewelry so the 2h weapon slot was extra (ex. Shadow walker + hundings rage). I was able to use the 2h weapons (staffs, bows, greatswords, etc.) for a while. I wish there was jewelry crafting, because this would allow for more versatile usage of some of the unique dropped items.
