Nerien'eth Procs

A few questions about Nerien'eth Procs from a console player who's basically blind:

I've heard it won't proc off DoT's like Entropy, Crippling Grasp, and Liquid Lightening. Is that true?

For Force Pulse/Crushing Shock, is each elemental hit a separate proc chance?

It says in the tooltip it doesnt proc from dots. So no, it wont. Still a great set. If they 'fix' molag kena like they said they would, it might be the new meta for dps.

I can verify that it doesn't proc off Entropy and Crippling Grasp. I don't know about Liquid Lightning. Force Pulse/Crushing shock is fine since it's three seperate hits in one shot... not one shot that keeps hitting over a fixed amount of time. The same can be said for Rapid Strikes (dual wield, flurry morph). Even though Rapid Strikes is multiple strikes- it isn't considered a DoT.

Entropy/Crippling Grasp = No Nerien'eth
Force Pulse/Crushing Shock/Rapid Strikes = Yes Nerien'eth

I'd suggest if you're using a NB for Crippling Grasp- invest in Valkyn. I've had very good luck with the procs. It seems a lot of people feel that it's been nerfed, though.

IF you want to proc Nerien'eth as a NB- use Sap Essence, Funnel Health, Ambush, Assassin's Blade, and Concealed Weapon.

IF you want to proc Valkyn as a NB- use skills like Crippling Grasp, Lotus Fan, Mark Target (yes- it does proc Valkyn for some reason), Prolonged Suffering (I don't know anyone who actually uses this skill) and Twisting Path (Refreshing Path, however, does NOT proc Valkyn).

I don't know much about Sorc skills... but I'm sure some of those guys will help you. Good luck!

Thanks for the info @jaburns and @tangy.citrus! I do run Nerien'eth on my MageBlade with good results using Funnel Health, Merciless Resolve, Sap Essence, etc.

I'm just doing some napkin calculations and trying to decide if I want to run it on my Magicka Sorc, go with Kena, or do the 1x Kena/2x Torug's.

If you run 2x Kena on an Altmer Sorc- and you're against me in PVP... remind me to Cloak until death do us part. It's a really good synergy... and I'd want you on my side in PVP and PVE.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they changed Crushing Shock/Force Pulse recently. It counts as one chance per cast to proc Nerien'eth now, instead of three like before. A mild nerf to the set for most people running it.

Crushing Shock still has a 27% chance to proc Nerienths, a single cast is deals 3x elemental dmg.

For Elemental Drain Crushing Shock counts as 1 hit, possibly due to cooldown on the magicka return.

Entropy does proc it.

Only the very FIRST tick of damage. (When you cast it and the little blue orb thing transfers from them to you -- that's the ONLY time it will proc. The DoT heal from the damage will never proc it)

I'm pretty sure that all dots have chance to proc it. But it only has a chance from the first tick of the dot. Can't proc from each tick. Anyone know if sorcs pets attacks can proc it? Next time I play (after holidays though) I'll check if they can.

Does anyone know the cooldown or if the magic damage can crit?

I'm currently trying the set out and getting the same DPS as before with 1 PC Molag Kena and 2 PC Torugs.

No cool down or crit iirc. Damage seems consistent imo. Quite good over kena

The only cooldown is the animation itself. You can proc it back to back, but not two at once.

Yes the magic damage from the proc can Crit.

Are you sure about this? I know that CS now only acts as one attack rather than three in regards to Ele Drain procs, or when used against a DK with flappy wings up. Using the set before and after the change to CS, it sure seems like it procs less often than before the change, but I don't have hard data to back that up...just anecdotal evidence from using it. The patch notes about the change don't specify.
