I just hit vr1 few days ago but don't know where to spend champion points or what gear I should get. And going into pvp getting one shotted is a moral killer.

It probably going to take me like 2 months to hit vr16. I am a casual player but that doesn't mean I want to suck at pvp. I want to be good at it.

I'll tell you right now i'm not very knowledgeable about the templar class. i have however been thinking of making one and this is what i was planning on.
for weapons: sword and shield + Restoration staff. you can put an additional armor enchantment on your shield (helath, magicka or stamina depending on what you feel you are lacking).
the skills that will increase your survivability in pvp: 1. Harness magicka (light armor) 2. healing ward (restoration staff) 3. Defensive posture (sword and shield)
As for CP:
warrior points:
Bastion (boost your wards, harness magicka and Healing ward)
Quick Recovery (boost healing received)
Elemental Defender
Hardy
Mage:
Thaumaturge (offensive capabilities)
Blessed (increase healing done)
Elf born (increase damage done by spell crits, heals can also crit)
spell erosion (only one point here)
Shadow:
Arcanist (Magicka regeneration)
Magician (reduce spell cost)
Tumbling (reduce cost of Dodge roll and break free)
I started PvPing at a low level myself in 1.6. try and find a group to play with, learn as you go and try and have fun. As you gain more CP it will become progressively easier and more enjoyable and eventually you can play solo if you so wish.

Thanks for the info. So the more cp I use the more durably and harder hitting I become. Cool.
