Guild Store price ranges

ForlornBeliever
I was hoping to get some opinions on what good price ranges for items in the store would be. I like to try and give a reasonable price based on level, rarity, etc. but I don't want to get jipped or rip someone off either.

You gotta be a bit more specific on what prices you want to know. Checking every guild store in populated cities is a good start. If you're trying to sell gear that you're not seeing in guild stores, then maybe you can name us what you're trying to sell and those with some knowledge may help

Pretty much anything. Weapons, armor and such. It's not really for any specific thing that I'd like to know but a variety. I've tried checkinh other stores and I see jacked prices pretty much everywhere. But even when I see stuff for cheap, I check it now and again and they're still there so it's a little confusing.

Normally I go with whatever value I think it's worth but I also cross-reference values I see from other traders. If the average value for an item is say 5k but some people try to sell it for like 20k or something yet some sell for less than 5k then safe to say 5k is a good price to place if you agree and/or don't want to go lower lol but it also depends on what prices have actually been getting buyers and how often. If a price is too good to be true and gets buyers immediately it is likely too low. As Danny said though would be helpful to mention the item you're trying to sell so people can help you accurately appraise it which is most recommended but try to get multiple opinions so you don't end up falling for a troll's lies lol

Can you give us a sample item though?

How about a motif? Those seem to be the most random priced items I've seen. Some as low as 3K to as high as 30K for the same one. Or even any gear of Blue rarity or higher might be better since that's pretty much all I sell since anything green or white is likely to be weaker than what someone currently has.

And thanks for the advice too.

The idea behind Guild Auction Houses was that prices vary in prices and under-cutting doesnt happen so often, instead of fixed priced, you never know what you will find. I think its working percectly.

Speaking of Economy. I'd say everything could cost easily double what they cost now, its so easy to make money in IC. I think they should merge IC between all Campaigns, its exploiting to go to empty Campaign, grind sewers 2 hour with 4 multiplier and cash in. I bet theres new console players with 10+ mill Gold already.

people do buy the green and white items on occasion for the traits to learn for crafting. I know when I have a slot open and do not have an item with the trait that I need I try the guild bank and then guild stores and only grind for it if I have to. Nirnhoned is the only trait that has a high price tag and that is because there is only one way to get Nirnhoned gear other than player trading....and the Nirncrux used to be VERY hard to find. They changed that now, but they are still rare.
As for motifs, it would depend on which one. Primal, barbaric, deadric, ancient elf are all around 20K. Imperial- 80K. One page of Ancient Orc can go for around 50K. One page of Mercenary goes for a bout 10K. It all depends on the motif, its rarity, and of course your customer

Important question though: console or PC? The prices on each are vastly different.

Grab the add on Master Merchant and it will help you with that immensely.

The biggest factor on Guild store pricing is you have the Noob seller and the Vet Seller and prices can vary on same items also you get the Under cutter and the Price gouger. Both of what effect pricing as well.

I found just selling a item at near what Master Merchant was suggesting netted decent results

With the new players from free play weekend and the anticipation of Christmas Noobs, prices have been skyrocketing. Something I was selling for 300 is now going for 1,500 on Xbox NA.

from what I have been seeing on the forums, prices on consoles seem to be varying wildly with high prices being common. (I am on PC NA) The use of add0ns like Mater Merchant on PC help to keep merchants more honest IMHO. It is harder to get crazy high prices when you can compare prices as easy as you can with MM. I am in 4 of the biggest trade guilds on NA PC, and if you try to list something real high in one of these guilds I can tell you, it will not sell.

I see you mention motif prices above. On PC, basic blue racial motifs sell for about 100 or they don't sell, the 4 exotic racial (daedric, ancient elf, barbaric, primal) sell for like 7-12k, at the present time.(They used to sell for much more Daedric used to sell for 35k+) Imp sells for about 40-42k (used to reliably sell for 70K+), Dwemer pages sell for 3-4k, glass pages 25-35k each, ancient orc 30-50k each. These prices tend to trend downward as more crafters learn the styles and they come available on the crown store.

Most vet traders know how to use addons to price there wares to sell them quickly (I do 35-50 sales a day from my 120 sale slots) that involves taking into the overall game economy as well as the prices in the store that you are selling in. There is also a fair amount of psychology that goes into selling in guild traders. The best selling items on PC (I have guildies that track this info) are always crafting matts. With the best selling items being gold tempers whicj are currentlt trending toward higher prices. (tempering alloys are selling for 8.5k ea , deugh wax 3k ea, kuta 8.5k ea on PC) Players only buy non-set gear for decon or trait research. Set gear is where you probably see the most variance in pricing. Some items are just too rare to get a reliable price from MM. (Can you rely on a price if there are 2 sales in 65 days?)

One additional point, On PC NA , trade is dominated by the Rawl'kha trade guilds. The easy accessibility of all amenities in the city draws players from all factions. If you are familiar with those trade guilds you will find there is overlap in the sellers that trade in these guilds. You will find that the prices in these guilds are some of the most competitively priced items if you go around and compare prices. These guilds all have actively-enforced membership requirements. (In the from of minimum sales and inactivity policies i have heard of console guilds actually requiring members charging fees for sellers to retain membership, which I can not confirm as i do not play on console. You will also find the best items in these stores. As you move into less-populated stores you will see much smaller total listings, less desirable items for sale, and more of a price range in items. What you can sell and for how much is a factor of where your trade guild is located. Trade guilds in zones like Auridon or Rivenspire have a lot fewer players searching for items and have to depend on sales to players questing in those zones rather than the zones that draw players in (namely Rawl'kha the 3 zones with undaunted encampments, and orsinium)

Zones to get decent prices on :
Basically each capital (where the undaunted enclave is)
Ralw'kha (So you'll know how much is considered 'overpriced' but STILL socially accepted.)
Belkrath (that city in Craglorn, fairly legit prices)
Orsinium (also pretty much legit prices)
    ... Mai cave. >:3

We really need some form of Master Merchant on console.
I want to change the world. I'm just to lazy to do it.
