The point of this post is pure exaltation, nothing really constructive.

So I took a hiatus from the game for about a week after beating wrothgar and decided to peruse some other games. MMOs that I've played before, yeah? Played some GW2, some tera, and checked my mail for a Black Desert key. This game has problems. We know there are balance issues in pvp, lag, strange RNG issues, and other percieved problems, but if there is one thing I think most will agree on it's that when this game works it is top shelf stuff.

Every traditional MMO I tried felt so clunky and static after playing ESO for so long. Even the games that are described as having active combat like GW2 and Rift couldn't compare to the snappy response and mobility I have with this game. Sure, some things are just cleverly hid behind UI, but I still appreciate not seeing the clockwise spin of a cooldown timer on every skill.

AND THE TEXTURE MAPS, OH THE GLORIOUS TEXTURE MAPS! I get that MMOs are suppose to be accessible to a wide audience but ESO just puts a multitude of great games to shame when it comes to eye candy. Anyone who knows what normal and specular maps are can understand my excitement when logging in to see bumps and sheen in every object I look at. I use a custom reshade as well, so it's pretty+.

PVP combat can be frustrating sometimes, but I never thought I would feel at ease when I get swarmed by Wrecking Blows. I feel it. I feel my character die, but I also feel every life I take as well. Even the easy victories against stray zerglings feel every bit as earned as the fights against good players. Never do I feel like I'm just coasting through a battlezone.

When I'm not solo murdering in cyrodiil, I'm an avid RPer and this game delivers with familiar lore and a vast library of source material to extract and construct from. Not to mention that with such great locations, RP becomes easy to do at any time.

I know there are a lot of things that can be changed about the game, but I implore everyone to look at what it has to offer. It has a potentially great future that has only become brighter as the game improved.

Thanks for reading. Here's a seasonal Horker for your time.

Hehe this was a good read. Last couple of weeks I played the game more & more, I even log in everyday now. Which wasn't the case a year ago. I feel the game is quite stable now despite the bugs. I'm in an awesome guild and I had many great experiences with guildies, like doing dungeons and pvp runs. So yeah,I too think that the game has so much to offer. Ps: for the first time I noticed that there are owls in Wrothgar lol.

Your words are everything I feel about ESO. I absolutely love it.Sometimes I stop in my travels, near sunset, and watch the suns rays coming through the palm trees over the ocean. Amazes me every time. I have never felt that it was unstable at any time. Perhaps I am so wrapped up in all the wonder that is ESO I cant see any negative. But then again,I dont PvP,which is where most of the problems seem to be coming from.
And finally,I have found my groove, since betas, and am making large bunches of gold. I never thought I was poor until people talked about their millions, etc.Still didnt pay attention until I started gathering insect parts and selling stacks of 200.I have to say it's a nice way to make gold. Hunting Butterflies.
    What a beautiful world.

I agree with all that's been said. It's a stunning game to look at and an exceptional one to play, very much in a league of its own. I have always found it incredibly stable and the only couple of bugs I've come across were a year or more ago and easily worked around at the time. It's amazing how much there is to praise in the game, and how little there is to complain about, if you don't PvP! The only thing I'd change is the trading system, but apart from that it's a nigh on perfect online TES game as far as I'm concerned.

I totally agree with all you are writting, I love this game!!!

screw the bugs, and screw the lags in Cyrodiil (I usually play PVE) :).

I love the quests, my character, my build, my armors and weapons, the NPCs, the dialogs, the lore books, the vegetations and animals and monsters, I love the dungeons and dailies, provisioning writs, the addons, magic, melee fights :)...such a great game ZOS :)!!!! many thanks for it!!!

I totally love this game and I swear to Meridia I am going to buy all the DLCs that will be released and that I will play this game until I or the servers die :)!!! I am totally serious about this :)!!

Leave wrobel out....... I do not feel he deserves to much praise until he figures out what is actually going on in this game. For being the combat guru, he really fails over and over and over.

Love the guys personality, love his excitement, HATE his design decisions and for THAT I do not give him praise.

    Everything else is 100%

Edit: to be more clear, if his hands are just tied because corporate, then I take back my statement. Again, I DON'T hate him. He is actually one of my favorite people to have on eso live. Then I realize why I don't want him on eso live as soon as he discusses changes they made and why things are the way they are.

Haven't done much with this game since around mid-summer. The PvE expansion looks interesting though, so may purchase it sometime in the future.

For now though, playing the heck out of Fallout 4 with mods.

could you be please more specific on what are his fails in the combat? I mostly do PVE, not so much PVP and this is my first MMO game, but I did not find any fails in PVE combat.
