I doubt this thread will live long but others will take its place. Removing them is treating the symptoms and not the root cause of all the dissatisfaction expressed recently on the forums.

Let me express what OP should have said if he was feeling more eloquent. This thread would not be possible without the following things happening:
    • Launching the game in a beta state with a known dupe bug that ZOS was warned about in beta.
    • Charging PC players a subscription fee to essentially beta test an incomplete game and using that money to fund console instead of fixing the game or the main quest which was bugged for months after launch.
    • PvP getting neglected for the first whole year after launch.
    • PvP having single digit FPS for 2 months after craglorn launched.
    • The lighting patch and ani-bot patch that removed this game's ability to have "100s of players on screen at once"
    • The removal of soft-caps and the addition of the failed champion system that made abusive builds rampant in cyrodiil
    • Game-breaking bugs and exploits that go unfixed for an average of 3 months.
    • Lack of any enforcement or moderation in PvP when you received reports of exploiting/cheating/hacking while at the same time, people would be banned in PvE for trolling an RP event.
    • Intentionally Raising level to V16 (after promising the community that VR ranks were being removed) just to grab all our gear and make us buy your DLC to grind it all back with 5x the RNG and 10x the materials needed.
    • Making a thread about AOE caps and avoiding the issue entirely and not even explaining the REAL reason why they are there.
    • Having a level of quality so far below your competition.
    • Broken champions in league get fixed in weeks, not months at RIOT. Ask Nick Konkle about that.
    • Whenever Blizzard changes balance or abilities in starcraft they write a full page rationale to their players. They actually have a balance paradigm for their races! What is the balance paradigm for the four classes now? How do you like your DK?

ZOS the natives are getting restless. Your biggest twitch streamers and the largest guilds are actively looking for other games. You need to do more than just damage control. You need to look deep into what inherent barriers exist in your organization that continue to make this game, for lack of a better term, suck.

I will leave you all with an early video of what PvP was capable of before all the patches and neglect. Of what potential this game STILL has.

Having a level of quality so far below your competition.

What? A level of quality below the competition? Which competition are you talking about?
    • WOW WOD has less bug, maybe: but the expansion was boring due to choice of devellopement and players either focused on exclusively raid/arena, or dropped out of the game
    • FFXIV: is a game that's succesful for certain, but maybe players (including me) can't stand it due to the combat system that feels old fasioned and outdated
    • Wildstar: eeehh..let's speak about bugs
    • Tera online: do not age well
    • SWTOR: ehhh..let's speak about bad buisness model and ripping off players from their money

    etc...

Only game I'd not discuss is GW2, because I still believe that game have done very little mistakes.

Agreed, I'm a long time mmo player, since the days of dial up modems and dating back to over 16 years ago.

I love mmos, I love building a character, putting YEARS not days or weeks or months YEARS of work into building up my characters.

The last mmo I stayed with that well was anarchy online, played for about 6 years solid, having multiple max level alts, enjoying all the content

I tried eve, but it's too clickey and hardcore imo, when I joined I ask about a 'noob friendly corp' I got recommend to a few, and when asking to join I got given a website address, with a 7 page Web application which then required me to set two appointments up for interviews with recruiters.

Also someone pointed out it would take around 2 years to get some of the best ships, or you could pay around $8000 to get one immediately. That's not p2w, that's just insanity.

That's just insane imo. So that got dropped.

WOW just never liked it, between the feel / look of the game I dunno, was never a big war craft person anyway. Don't like buying your way to max level either, very bad business choice imo.

Swtor just felt bad since day one, send an email about a bug report? Don't even get a reply till 3 months later saying it's a known bug and get on with it.

Also no endgame killed it pretty quick.

Star trek online, started out well, but they soon went p2w selling ships and buying your way to victory.

Final fantasy a realm reborn, abysmal start, so much they had to shut down the whole thing and start from the ground up, unfortunately the combat is dog slow, I could fall asleep waiting for animations to finish, and it's far too cartoony, I'm an avid final fantasy fan, I know their style, and a realm reborn feels too much like a child's game half the time.

Finally the most recent type of mmo, destiny, I played the betas, I thought it would have me hooked for years to coke, it had an amazing gob smackingly good story to be used, it had good graphics, amazing gun play, i thought it would downright be aqesome.

Little did we know, I bought the game, and then found out the story was only 6 or 7 hours long, then the only thing you could redo was the same one raid and nightfall over and over and over, rng was worse than eso, literially had people running the same missions for 7 months plus to get one gun, yet the missions were only 10 minutes each, people had completed the vog raid over 150 times and still not gotten the hand cannon they wanted.

Then nerfs came which everyone hated, then it got worse, with the level raise in the first dlc all you had done got wiped out and meant nothing.

For example imagine in eso if the only end game vr16 gear was by completing vetmsa, and that the rest of the gsme only let you have vr14 gear, now imagine spending 3 months of just running vmsa, to get to vr16 gear, then suddenly the next dlc they made it all drop everywhere.

Destiny suffered, lost 85% of its customer base, got ridiculed online and guess what? They've now gone p2w, you can purchase skill trees and levels now...

Eso isn't perfect, but it's just the right mix for me, and it's bloody fun..

Eh, it's an Elder Scrolls game. Game-breaking bugs should be expected overall, think about Skyrim and the cursed Esburn who's dialogue wasn't connected to the game, meaning you had to try and talk to him and reload your save around 50 times before you could continue the main quest. I stopped doing the main quest because of this on my 4th play through, but I still played through the entire game (almost) a good 6 times.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

It goes without saying the game needs work, because it is a work in progress. However, it is already in its current state despite being in such an infantile phase. There is so much still coming that you really should give it a more fair chance. Someday you'll come back, see the state of the game, and say to yourself "man I can't believe I wrote this game off so soon... I sure missed a lot because of it!"

But it's your call and if you don't wanna be here then don't be here lol have a nice day!

I find it kind of funny that of the 13 different points I brought up, the ZOS apologists have only managed to pick at one of them.

What I should have said is that ZOS's quality standards are much lower than the gaming industry as a whole and not what you would expect out of a AAA game title. 3 months is a long time for a bug that is gamebreaking in scope to persist unfixed.

All my other points have gone uncontested so I can only assume that they have no rebuttal.

The other issue is that most of the people that blindly defend this game are PvE'ers that just run around the starter zones all day on their tiger mounts with a big dopey grin on their face. They haven't played the most challenging gameplay and definitely don't step foot in PvP.

It's like we are playing to completely different games. ZOS must love them as customers because they never challenge the game engine and they buy all the cosmetic stuff.

PvP'ers on the other hand, push the game engine to its limits, try to figure out how the game works and how it ticks under the hood. Totally different crowds.
