Are IC sewers a good option to level an Alt?

I was running around there with my lvl 14 nb and the exp seemed pretty good. Much better than when i was grinding zombies in the dc starter zone.

Maybe because everything is being aoe'd down by high levels and as long as i get 1 hit in i get the exp right?

The exp there seemed really slow when i tried :(

Besides i can get much better loot in IC. The ring sets will pay for my exp pots :)

IC experience is good, but as Resipsa said Wrothgar is a more laid back option. For starters, good luck getting anything Vet Rank into the Imperial City districts where all the good exp is lol

Sewers is very nice exp. There is just a few things:

Mobs hit hard and if you want to get a decent amount of exp/h, you need to pull bigger packs of mobs, which might be a bit hard alone depending on your class. Grinding with a friend is recommended. More exp, faster, easier.
You can get ganked, which stops your progress till you arrive back at the grinding spot. Without knowing, if the ganker might still be out there. I usually leave my PvP character at the spot and then relog to the grinding character. In case I get killed (or I spot the ganker) on that one, I relog and go kill the ganker.
At the good grinding spots there is usually a lot of people, making the exp/h rather low. Off hours are recommended.

As long as your not in a huge group it doesn't matter how many people there are just as long as you hit a big atleast once then you'll get the full exp when it dies. Thats how it used to be anyway

But yeah i usually go around in a 5 group of 4 with my friends.

I'll just test it out anyway, my lvl 20 nb isn't that bad in pvp because of the battle leveling. Dmg it pretty low but thats about it.

No that's not how it ever worked or works. You get X amount of exp per mob. If you kill the mob with one more person, you will get a bit more than X (if grouped). If 3 people kill the same mob, the exp will be divided and will be less than X. Doesn't matter if grouped or not. And with more people getting a hit on the mob, the more people the exp will be divided to.
Therefore, grinding exp is bad in groups of more than 2. It's inefficient.

Only if you enjoy getting ganked. If you don't care about the stones you'll be fine.

So the more populated your faction the less exp you get?

There's a spot, in the sewers thst I regularly go to, to grind alts, considering I'm a blue player the actual best zone is the zombie spot but reds and yellows are always ganking and grinding there as it's also the best dark ether spot.

My spot is a fair bit out of the way, and in 3 months of being there I've once seen a group of reds run through, and been ganked once, I once grinded an alt from 10- vr15 there over 3 days.

Another bonuses is i get around 100k tel var stones from start to finish, which means I can buy all the mats for vr16 gear, and use the rest to get stuff to sell for monies.

    Id got there everytime, cause

    1. XP is very good (not the best) but close

    2. You get a good shot at top tier gear

    3. You get stones for everything you need V16 meanwhile

    4. Let's not forget some fun pvp every now and then :p

Its the most profitable grind spot certainly.

And teh XP is very good. I probably wouldn't go there at level 3 as you'd be too weak. But I've ground out a few levels on V1 ranked characters very quickly there and made a very healthy profit at the same time.

You can get great XP from IC. However, you're effected by Battle Spirit and the mobs hit hard and have a lot of Health. so, it's not the quickest.

with that said. If you group with one other person, it's pretty viable.

Cracked wood cave while non-vet, then IC when you're vet. Having said that, my level 30 mag DK is doing just fine in IC at the moment and the exp is insane. It's actually kind of annoying because I have to craft new gear every 30 minutes.

Ooh I think it is! I had a great time lvling my DK there and my sorc as well...

I will admit though, killing loads of trash like in IC does not train you on how to use your class and skills, so don't expect to come out of there a v16 God or anything, you still need to learn your role and class and rotations/skill load out for different situations and that takes time.

Yeah I always just wear whatever trash I get and maybe craft weapons every 4 lvls.

It is so quick I just craft at the end.
