Looting our kills

I was wondering why we cant loot the gear off our kills. In Morrowind you could take all their armor, clothes, weapons and whatever was in their pockets. Now,you just get one piece of armor if you re lucky, but mostly just bits of gold.
I've killed enemies with great looking armor and wished I could take it off of them.
:{ But,..nope.

    I know. Sad,isnt it.
They could make new and unique things to sell in the crown store, but just let us loot our kills totally. The armor could be scaled to our levels, and we'd have to get new higher level gear as we went along.

I do agree that it takes away from the realism, but you would be running back to decon and sell every 15 minutes. I have to decon and sell too much as it is.. Lol

Oh,it takes me a lot longer than 15 minutes to fill up my inventory or level up.lol. I only decon once my inv is full.

He was saying it would take 15 minutes if this change was made and you could loot full sets of armor from mobs.

Honestly, it would be closer to 10 minutes.

Besides, if they did this it would just be junk like the unowned gear lying around some crafting stations. It would be worth no gold and decon for next to no inspiration or materials. It would be a waste of inventory space.

Huh? You really -want- to loot full sets of crappy white gear from all corpses, and/or have to search through all the white stuff for the one thing worth taking?

I mean, yeah, it is fun to do in single-player games, sometimes. But also much of a drag. Too moch for an MMO, they were likely thinking, and thus... they made it this way.

I wouldn't mind it tbh. I don't generally start crafting for my character until later on, so just use whatever I drop. Sadly the drop rate on gear is extremely low. I used to love looting bodies in Morrowind, going through their inventory, deciding what to take and what to leave.
If I saw a dude wearing a pimpin' piece of armour, I'd go stealth, kill him and strip him down for his goods. So yeah, while not a priority thing, this is definitely a nice to have feature.

If loot becomes based off what the physical appearance of the defeated NPC has then we will no longer get gear drops from non-human NPCs. Just a thought.

Sure, I can't loot the boots that I can clearly see the guy I just killed is wearing, but I can loot a blue heavy armor breastplate from a random wisp...

People asked for more lootable items in world...we got garbage armors with lower armor stats and no gold value that give little to no experience or material when broken down. These junk items were also shoved into other containers like dressers and cabinets taking up space that might have otherwise dropped a motif or other useful item. This is what you well get if armor on kills is lootable...not decent armor but this junk armor fit for little more than destroying to clear it from your inventory. Sure occasionally you might get a green, blue or purple item...but occasionally you get that now so why make all the armor lootable if it will be 99% garbage?

I don't mind not looting the crap armor boots.
I do however mind the wisps with breastplates, wolves with staves... I mean, come on, a wolf with a staff? How does that even work? Does he carry it in his mouth like a doggie playing "fetch"? Does he have it jammed up his bu... uhm... forget what i was gonna say, that'd be just animal cruelty.

Mob-specific loot tables that would get you no gold, weapons or armor from "creature" mobs is something I really would love to see come to ESO.

Not all my kills are low level,so their drops wouldnt always be white items. Also if I am s tarting a new character, why wouldnt I want gear that is fairly good.Sometimes white gear is.Also,if you start early to improve low level gear, you start leveling up your crafting. Why would it bug you? Jusdt wondering.

You dont even know that really.Since it isnt a part of the game, just an idea I had. There is no precedence for it to say what you would or would not get in any drops. If many times if we loot a container we get something freen,or even blue, why wouldnt it stand to reason that pieces of armor from a kill would be the same.If we could take their low level gear for our low level characters what would be the problem? Who would it bother? No one, except those who dont want any lower level characters to have good looking things, with the low level stats.

Why would it be a problem if a low level character got white gear or not? None.If they cam kill their target, they should be able to loot their body for all the stuff.
As I said before, what's the problem with it? If you dont want the gear, dont take it.Just take their gold then.

No one, except those who dont want any lower level characters to have good looking things, with the low level stats.
Nobody cares what your low level character looks like for whatever unimportant amount of time you spend in a low level zone.
As I said before, what's the problem with it? If you dont want the gear, dont take it.Just take their gold then.
You're forcing trash on players. I turned on auto loot a long time ago to minimize the amount of time i have to remove trash from my inventory and maximize my ability to play. You want to take that away from everyone by forcing them to sift through a ***-show of useless items because you want to wear them for 20 minutes until you find a better one.
If many times if we loot a container we get something freen,or even blue, why wouldnt it stand to reason that pieces of armor from a kill would be the same.
the overwhelming majority of the time containers drop common trash - style stones, lockpicks, provisioning ingredients and even when enemies do drop green and blue items, they're still rarely more than vendor or decon trash.
There is no precedence for it to say what you would or would not get in any drops.
The precedence is there in every weapon rack and merchant stall all over Tamriel.
When trash items were considered stolen and full price, Zenimax cut the price to 1/3 of what it was because the ease of fencing huge amounts of gold. Items that aren't "stolen" are worth zero gold. Zenimax has botched the economy before and if they do it again it will only ever be temporary. So yes, we can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, we know what kind of items will drop with this idea.
Not all my kills are low level,so their drops wouldnt always be white items.
Yes they would be, it's pretty clear you don't understand how Zenimax has built their looting system.

So if you want to continue, you're going to have to do better.

I absolutely love this idea. Add to it a greater variety of lootable items all around Tamriel. If ZOS is going to expand home crafting to be similar to Fallout 4s crafting then this would be extremely helpful in getting crafting materials for the home.

To accommodate the... erm... "compulsion to horde" ZOS could implement 2 ideas I have had in the past:
More Bags and Encumbrance (to carry more than your max amount but with limitations.)

ZOS could also introduce summonable bankers, among other creatures.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Part of it is that the bag space and bank space is so limited, if the level of loot was even 10% of what we had in Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim our bags would fill up in a matter of minutes.
Other part of it is that without those things you get to have player crafted stuff actually being worth something and sold.

It would be great if we could, in previous TES games you could loot everything from everyone you killed and almost every object could in the game world be picked up and sold.

Those who are going on about inventory space, previous TES games had armour and weapon stacking as long as they had the same stats and material type i.e all iron daggers or leather gauntlets stacked, so you could keep the same slot system and still be able to loot everything from enemies.
