Waiting around. I feel like most of my PVP time is spend standing there going "Are they going to attack again? Is it safe to leave?" and going from Keep A to Keep B, only to have nothing happen or get pushed back. Too much downtime.

I've actually proposed last year - something of PvE objectives localized to keeps to give bonuses in attacking or defending the same keeps - to encourage PvErs to go help in PvP - (grouping also - making questing in cyro at the same time less hard to quest in)
These same actions could obviously give you AP and lvl your alliance skills. (Clearing X dungeon near X keep adds NPC guards to the keep - or lowers vendor costs in that keep, or opens up secondary portal near keep, etc...)

Problem is all the server issues, not sure its a great idea to entice bigger populations into Cyro when the servers have trouble keeping up with the current populations...

You sound just like me, lol. One of my guilds does Cyrodiil PVP on the weekends though (taking keeps, defending keeps, etc.). I've learned a lot just by observing and getting my hands dirty. My PVP skills are steadily improving, and I'm having a blast working with guildies towards a common goal. Slowly transitioning my character build from PVE to PVP, and doing my best to support the group.

Don't let these negative people ruin it for you. PvP is a blast. #1 thing? Use Cyrodiil zone chat and say "New to PvP, looking for a PvP guild to run with"

3. Realise the lag is so bad i iterally can't play
4. Go to IC, go to arena district and fight there instead.
5. Cry myself to sleep when i realise how far magicka det is away.

Watching people duel to boost their ego instead of playing and coordinating with a team. Team play is just more my style. If i wanted to 1v1 i'd play Mortal Combat.

Nothing against dueler's. I recently made a dueling build and it was fun for awile. I win some and loose some. It got real static and old fast. Same situation's, nothing really to make thing's dynamic. Which is why im an open world kinda guy.

Time to invest in a new build.

Usually trying to find a fight somewhere that the lag isn't. Which is a lot easier said than done. When it's possible they're the best fights imaginable, whether win or lose. Lag fights are absolutely zero fun. Which is mostly all we can find anymore.

What has been fun lately is to go into IC with one of my dunmer DK's and then just tag along with groups roaming around. I wait till they attack first (don't spoil the ambush and all of that) and then do support; talons, destro clench and similar. Usually ends up being lots of fun.

Note: I Always keep magelight on, and wear 5 of night's silence so I can sneak at speed.
