Even half a minute is way too much for a game in 2015, even a MMO.
There are games lot more detailed and complex that load in the fraction of that time.

He clearly said half a minuet. We could be talking 7 or 8 minutes, which you must admit is pretty excessive.

Ummmm your whole sentence reeks of not understanding the underlying complexity of large scale dynamic MMOs.
Most of those games that are more detailed are probably not MMOS, are probably instanced to smaller player groups, and are probably not simultaneously processing the activity of MMO level player bases, probably doing most of the work client side rather than server side.

Your whole message reeks of absolute lack of experience with modern MMOs. I have very rarely loading screens that last longer than 15 sec - and those are usually the first ones after starting client or at worst case first time game world loading. Right now im frequently playing - GW2, SWOTR, tried BDO and Star Citizen - in none of those games so much of my play time i spent on loading screens as in ESO.
There is clearly a problem.

GW2 was also known for infinite load screens a lot in world vs world. SWTOR has the worst performance issues of any MMO to date, just research illum. The main cities in SWTOR had the same loading issues as ESO. So ya, welcome to modern MMOs where things have to load , even for an inconceivable half a minute. People are so dam impatient nowadays, you all would have scooped out your eyes with rusty spoons had you played in the 56k days. Kids will be kids though.

First thanks for making me smile - nobody (well exept my parents) called me kid at least for the last 28 years.
Second i play GW2 from launch and never had the problem you described, nor i have heard from anybody else (not to mention GW2 wvw maps dont have loading screens once the map loads. SWOTR was worse than it is now its true, and thanks but i dont have to research Illum - i know that i have been there and while it was a stinking pile of fps issues loading screens where nowhere near level of ESO. Not to mention Illum was deemed a total failure just because of its problems and practically abandoned.
But please go ahead and tell me more how im a spoiled kid and know nothing about MMOs. If you dont value your time its up to you, for me its not acceptable and was one of many reasons i didnt log in for the last 1.5 month.

1.GW2 did indeed have the problem he described, but not only on the initial WvW screen but throughout other zones. Played that trash for a while starting with beta. 2.SWTOR is still pretty damn bad as of, lets see, last week. 3.I don't know what kind of kid you are so I won't comment on that. Also, Welcome back friend! I'm assuming you're back in game after 1.5 months and not just trolling the forums, cuz that would be sad.

1. While i havent played beta, but since i started 3 weeks after launch and i can say that i never had problems with loading screens in GW2. Btw could you show on a doll where did GW2 touched you?. 2 SWOTR - comparing to ESO runs smooth and i must say i never had endless loading screens nor long loading screens in the middle of the zone. 3 Everyone is somebody's kid i guess. Also thanks! I indeed loged in for about 1 h. Azura Star performed as usual, strolled around for a while in PvE zones but the sole thought of doing another fully voiced fetch quest made me log off. Frankly speaking even if i didnt log in lately i do feel that i am entitled to expressing my opinion on a product i bought, dont you think?

Gw2 touched me in the feels. Because compared to it's predecessor, it was literally so bad, I felt bad for even playing it. I think most people could agree it's one of the worst mmo's out right now. I have played unfinished Korean f2p's that perform better than SWTOR. Forget loading screens or pvp lag, the lag in SWTOR follows you to every area of the game. You are of course entitled to your opinion, even if it is misguided and based on falsehoods. Please visit us again in a few months and tell us about all of the things you hate in this game you don't want to play!
