So I've only gone and screwed up again. I bought the VR16 lockbox on my lower character. I thought, "No worries, I'll go bank it. No harm done". IT WON'T LET ME BANK IT. WHY???
Basically you're allowing people to buy these boxes knowing they can't open them or even bank them. Here's an idea.. just don't let us buy it until we're the right level. This is ridiculous.

If you can't open or bank this item, there is absolutely no point in letting people buy it in the first place.

Funny you say that. I remember Brian mentioning in the last ESO Live that character bound basically means account bound in their game. So why I can't store it in my bank I really don't know.

Collectibles are "bound" too, aren't they? There needs to be some clarification before we equip, buy etc....1 -

Containers can't be put in the bank.
Now if the OP could open the container, the items could probably be put in the bank.

they are the ridiculous kind of bound like said container is.. Can't bank.

Yeh luckily the char was V11, but I wasn't planning on leveling him to v16 anymore. Obviously he's v16 now
still I hated it, just wanted to open that boxes I bought. I don't understand why they can't be banked 0 -

^Pretty much this. I have to say, though, that I had no idea you couldn't open those lockboxes if you buy ones that are above your level. So I'd agree that it's silly that you're able to buy them at all if you can't either open them or transfer them to a different character. Not being able to bank a container is expected. Containers can't be put in the bank.
Now if the OP could open the container, the items could probably be put in the bank.

✭I had a quest-starting item (a journal of a bandit sorcerer in Rivenspire) that was "too high a level for me to use", and I couldn't even bank it...luckily I didn't have to get all the way to VR16 to use it, but I did feel your pain for a little bit.I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

Awhile back I bought 4 of the purple VR16 armor lockboxes, only to discover the same thing. My Support ticket resulted in a generic email saying my issue was resolved without even mentioning what the issue was. My follow up to that resulted in a "it's working as intended, there is no problem here". Needless to say I ain't impressed. As many have said - if we can neither bank nor open the container, just don't let us buy it... or at the least give a warning about it prior to purchase.Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.0 -

100% agree. Even a pop-up saying "Your character level isn't high enough to open this reward. Continue with purchase?" I would imagine implementing something, anything, would be fairly simple and save a lot of support tickets.0 -
