Dunmer dk vamp tank

As a Dunmer Dragonknight tank, would the racial passives cancel out the 25% extra fire damage taken? I know this has been asked before, but I can't find anything recent on the specific percentage of fire resistance the Dunmer passive gives. Would I be okay with just one fire resistance jewelry and staying in stage 1 or 2?

    No, the elemental resist you get from racials is barely noticable. But most fire damage doesn't hit too hard, so it's still possible. I didn't have any problems on my vamp dk tank doing dungeons like vcoa or vwgt. I just had ~15% less fire damage from cp.

    I do not have too many cp's, so I'm lacking on that aspect. About how much reduction can I expect from a purple fire resistance enchantment?

    you dont need the fire resistance. I run dungeons just fine with my dunmer dk vamp. vma completes too. The undeath passive is very helpful and pretty much cancels out the extra flame damage. (especially on dunmer)

    I've played a dps vampire and I was dying incredibly quickly from fire, this is why I'm asking. As a tank, I don't want to end up getting killed every time I go up against fire.

    Well, if you have problems getting out of fire aoes quick, then I wouldn't recommend becoming a vampire. But you can handle all bosses as vampire when you know what you are doing. In some fights (e.g. Bogdan / Planar inhibitor) you'll probably need harness magicka, in others (e.g valkyn skoria, coa titan) it's enough if you have good positioning / movement.

    Not any more. Should have been here at PC launch .... Dunmer DK vampires were a plague on the land. It was horrible like think PvP is bad now when DDDKV (just gonna abbreviate it) were a thing I saw many times 1 of them taking on and killing entire zergs by them selves. That was 1 V 25+ and they did kill every single player. That's how OP they were.

    Unless ZOS has recently fixed the fire resist passives for Dark Elves it was actually making you take an increased fire damage for having points into it. I dont ever recall reading a fix in any of the patch notes.

    I think the summer passive is about 4% fire damage reduction.

    For what it's worth with the catch up mechanic cp won't be a problem, on a fresh game (when I moved to pc from console) I've gotten 164 cp at vr8. Each one is costing me 150kish exp atm, at this rate the minimum a person with one vr16 will ever have is about 200cp.

    With 2 vet 16s should be around 300 (including some enlightenment thrown in over a month)
